we dont match up with any NFC east teams,we are lucky the skins dont have a good QB or we would be humiliated by being whitewashed by the NFC east.we need to do a triage and fix the o-line first and get another Cb opposite jenkins and replace Spencer in that order.
Agree totally except that the Spencer part in my opinion will be most difficult to achieve.
There are a couple decent OL on the market with Nicks by concensus vote getting the top grade of the group, and Rogers, Grimes, Finnegan, Carr etc.. @ DB is a little deeper, but OLBrs that can rush the passer usually have to be drafted, or by a pricey trade.
The reason why I want to retain Spencer is due to this,,, I would rather pay a little to keep an OLB that has secured the run on the strong side well.
I dont think anyone thats been paying attention can honestly without predjudice, that Spencer hasnt performed solid in that dept.
The problem is. is that Spencer is a lot like Spears in that they both are not as flashy as you would like them to be, and getting the pressure up field, what they do well at their respsective positions is anchor the strong side against the run.
Im not saying you ignore the position in the entire draft, just secure a proven stability, draft a need which will also be good value in DeCastro,,, did the very same thing last year with the Tyron Smith pick, just went hire than this current pick , but Tyron was a need but also probably topping the board. I would just keep trying to find value in the mid rounds like hopeful Carter in the 3rd last year.. yes he is MLB,, but their will be some nice mid-round prospects at OLB this year, their are just more pressing needs that could have a bigger influence quicker and be more effective.
DeCastro should be the same need/value situation, but the Combine hasnt even taken place and a lot can change, I understand that completely, so the names can change, but the philosophy should remain the same... hopefully.
