I would love for the Giants to get these 2 guys. than most likely they will pass on young guys with great potential like Rolondo McClain and Earl Thomas just to name a few. sounds like Jerry Reese is in panick mode.

It does sound like that. But Dansby and Sharper on their defense is an upgrade. No doubt.

I don't really like free agents a whole lot anyway.

Go for the draft, let the New York Free Agents have their way.

Sharper is nothing more than a bandaid. for all we know last season could've been his last good one. also until the Giants figure out how to get pressure again Sharper will look like a bum in that secondary. Dansby I haven't watched him a whole lot. the only guy that really impresses me on the Cards defense though is Darnell Dockett.

I'd rather it be him than Rolondo McClain.
If Rolando McClain fell to us I would be jumping up all day.
He learns from Brooking for a few years, and we got ourselves a beast at ILB.
Even though S and OL are far more pressing needs, I don't think we could pass that up.

we wouldn't draft Mcclain to have him sitting for a few years. What a waste of talent.

This is complete bull****. Why arn't the COWBOYS looking at Darren Sharper?

cmon Jerry!!!!

First, how do you know they arnt?

Second, Sharper is nobody's longterm answer. He had a good year for New Orleans, but the odds he'd produce at a similar level are slim and the odds are much more favorable for a huge drop off in level of play.

I'd rather find a long term solution, somebody like Earl Thomas.

personally, i hope the giants don't get dansby.

Who cares if they do? The guy isnt Lawrence Taylor. He's a nice player, but he isnt a game changer. And he certainly isnt a player that makes me lose any sleep either.

If Earl Thomas fell to 19, I would go get him.. Other people will question me and say we need more needs than just giving up a couple draft picks.. I know we need o-line depth and for them to be ready after the old guys are done but just a secondary of jenkins-scandrick-sensabaugh-thomas after Hamlin & T-New are out the door. I can dream

I need to see more of Thomas at the combine. I don't watch Texas football. It just isn't on here that much. He's on the smallish side but with good speed and instincts.

Right now and again until I see him and Allen at the combine, I don't see a huge difference in the two. I do see first round and second round but I'm not certain that translates that much difference on the field. I'd still, right now, drop down in the first to the top of the second and draft Allen. Pick up a third and go after Williams the WR with that pick and two OL with our second and third.

My guess is the war room will go after an OL in the first and that may well be the best way to go.

You're right, he probably wont tie a career-high with 9 picks, and set a career high with 3 defensive touchdowns like he did last year.

That's not the point. The point is he's still better than any other player that we have a shot at getting. And I'm all for the youth movement too, getting Sharper doesnt mean we cant draft a playmaking safety, it means the young'n gets to learn for a year (which is ideal)
Jerry's much smarter than this. You don't overpay old talent when they just came off a career season. That is just bad management and Jerry's beyond it.

I watched a lot of Texas football. Thomas is a beast. He's fast, has great instincts, and closes VERY quickly. He likes to hit too although he's on the smallish side. I wouldn't put him 1on1 with NFL backs just yet, but when the ball is in the air he is very very good.

Dansby is the key...he's legit, bigtime. He'll make any team better.

Sharper...short termer, period, but better than most S's in the league.

Drafting CJ Spiller would make me laugh...he's a legit player who will do big things in the NFL, but having them use their first rounder on yet another RB is okay with me.

It does sound like Reece is panicking. He's almost getting Snyder-like with all the "name" signings lately.

Speaking of that, what's their cap situation like?

But I hope, and think, that Jerry has learned that now that he finally has some competent personnel people around him, young is the way to go.
