You can only discipline and push the people you lead as far as they know that you love them. People aren’t stupid…. There is a huge difference between a tough coach and a tyrant that is insecure and trying to make sure everyone knows who is the boss.

Both guys may make you do pushups— but one scenario is about helping you as a player— the other is about making you aware of who has power.

If Judge does not care about his players in ways they know are authentic— his power move style will wear thin quickly— and it sounds like it might be heading in that direction

Did you see this from yesterday? Jason Garrett insisted that reporters call him coach and not by his first name. He probably makes his wife and kids call him head coach.

This is cringe-worthy. Condescending to the NY media is not “handling them” lol. Just do your job, get results, and help them do their jobs.

If you respect them, you earn the right to push-back when they cross a line with you. Calling you by your first name is hardly an insult worth “peacocking” over

If the Giants turn out to be decent this year it will look like he got the weak players to give up! Garrett could learn from letting players get too soft.

I love this Giants unraveling. I hate them the most in the NFC East.

They win 6 games and all of a sudden Joe Judge is a good coach and they’re a team on the rise lol. They’ll be a 7 win team at best. Can’t believe the same Giants fan crapping on Garrett think he’s the guy to lead their offense.

Reports from Giants camp are that the defense is all over the O and they know what’s coming. Classic JG.

why do people keep saying this? Its not even remotely true. I honestly think he will be looking for another job as an offensive coordinator on a different team in a year or two depending on how this season goes.

The team and the organization love the head coach there. There Defensive Coordinator is the coach who is going to be the one getting head coach interviews at the end of this year.

Garrett made a complete fool of himself with the media the other day. His call and response schtick doesn't work with a group of people who are not your buddies and are actually there to ask you questions and get answers.
