Gil Brandt Nostradamus

Respect him, you say? H-m-m, I believe I just did!

T'was another poster who labeled him senile, not I.

Shoving off certainly ain't in my plans, Kemosabey!

Sorry Bullflop! I was not intending that for you, I didn't want to quote the ones who were not respecting. All love bro .

Gil Brandt predicts the Cowboys will go to the Super Bowl at the Hall of Fame Jacket Ceremony.

He started as a baby photographer to become the one to change player scouting and personnel development for the NFL. I had the pleasure to spend a whole week with Brandt picking his mind and 10 years later he recognized me at a Cowboys Preseason game and spoke with me. I told him he would get in the Ring of Honor and the Hall of Fame. I am glad I was Nostradamus.

Gil Brandt started the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty by drafting Hall of Fame Player and Mr. Cowboy Bob Lilly and extended the Dallas Cowboys last Dynasty by Drafting Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman.

It took 30 years for Jerry Jones to understand why Tex Schramm was such a great GM. He hired a great Vice President of Player Personnel and a great Head Coach.

Congrats to Gil Brandt! Next in the Hall of Fame is Drew Pearson, Cornell Green, John Wooten, Harvey Martin, and Jimmy Johnson.

Does Gil know jason Garrett is coaching this team ?

The amazing thing about Gil is he can still remember, in great detail, every player he ever scouted, including where they played and what coaches they played for. And usually what their dimensions and measurements were.

Chuck Howley first.

Tom Landry was the "great coach" that was referred to that Gil Brandt served faithfully for so many years. It's a good bet that Gil knows about JG and all that he encompasses. He's been serving as an NFL.com writer for many years and surely isn't a senile nincompoop! If it weren't for Gil Brandt, who served Landry so devotedly for decades, Tom would likely have been a lesser coach with lesser talent than he would ever have enjoyed without him.

Let's give him his due respect without the kneejerk BS that he definitely doesn't deserve. Let's have some semblance of compassion for those like Gil Brandt, who had served the Cowboys organization so well for a major part of his life. Just guessing but maybe you weren't aware of that crucial segment of the Cowboys' history?

It's a well-known fact that Gil has a photographic memory and had the ability to recall prospective player's phone numbers instantly upon need. He was, undoubtedly, an indispensable member of the Cowboys' team, well before the scouting combines ever came into existence. Without him, the Cowboys would surely have been a lesser team for so many of the years that he served under Landry. He's, without doubt, a very deserving HOF recipient. ;)

I mean ... What a stupid commercial!!!!

Deion's Pizza Hut commercial aired when I was in high school and the Cowboys last won the Super Bowl.

So stupid as it may be, it still holds a special place in my fan's heart.

I still have that Jimmy Johnson Jacket (Mine has the Pasadena Super Bowl logo).

The three years they won back then merchandise was being sold on almost every corner in Dallas. I spent way too much money. I boxed everything up and opened that box about two months ago Of course I did not project that I would become larger than I was then.

Loved Brandt, but he doesn't get credit for Aikman.

Stupid for Jerry to let go Norton, Gogan, Gesek, and Jimmy Johnson to sign Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders could have said "ALL" after Kevin Smith tore his Achilles, and Jerry would have paid him.

But this is about Gil Brandt who should have been in the Hall of Fame long ago. I remember when Gil Brandt and Tex made the trade for Tony Dorsett. It confirmed my belief in God. I was 12 years old growing up in New Orleans watching Dorsett win the Heisman and rush of 200 yds winning a National Championship in the Super Dome in New Orleans. I prayed that the Dallas Cowboys would draft Tony Dorsett, who was the only missing piece for Staubach and a Super Bowl. Then the Cowboys and Dorsett with the Super Bowl in my hometown. My prayer was answered. But, scared me that I don't waste prayers like that anymore.

I guess Vegas odds makers didn't pay attention
