Boise State’s Young steals the show at pro day

Titus Young was undeniably the star of the show at Boise State’s pro day on Thursday.

The Broncos’ WR had himself one heck of a workout indoors on FieldTurf before representative from 25 teams. Young (5-foot-11 5/8, 176 pounds) ran 4.39 and 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 4.30 in the short shuttle and 6.85 in the three-cone drill. He had a 35-inch vertical jump to go with a 10-3 broad jump and did eight bench-press repetitions at 225 pounds.

I think Titus will go late second round or somewhere in the 3rd.

Would love to add that speed dimension to this team but we have other pressing needs.

I wouldn't mind having him as a 3rd WR. The problem is, by the time he is drafted, the Cowboys will still have important needs to fill and there will still be talent at those positions sitting on the board.

agreed , maybe if we orchestrate a trade down or 2 but this kid is a luxary we cant afford based on our current picks. But it would be nice to add this kid to our O what a weapon.

Man, he'd add a dimension but you really can't think about adding him at the round it would take.

If he were gonna be around towards the end of the draft it would be fine but not anywhere close to the first 4 rounds. He's probably worth the pick but Dallas just can't afford to do it.

Very true.

I'd like us to take a look at a guy like Edmund Gates in rounds 4-7.

Apparently we have some interest, which happy about. The team has scheduled a meeting with him already.

If you trade down and select Carimi over Tyron Smith than this is a luxury you may be able to afford.

Personally, I'd love to see Austin Pettis in the late rounds as a replacement to Sam Hurd.

Pettis has receiving ability, is a special teams dynamo and even holds for extra points/FGs.

I'm more interested in Jeron Johnson. Reminds me of Bob Sanders.

That is exactly what I have always thought. He isn't big but he brings the pain.

Trade down in the first, pick up a third and I'd have no problem with them taking Young. If Roy is released, we need a third WR and he would be a perfect fit in the slot.

Aldrick Robinson is another consideration in the 6th or 7th.

I think TY will be at least a solid pro. He has all the tools, but the perception that he is just a "speed guy" overshadows the fact he has really great hands. I bet he made half a dozen one-handed, clutch catches his jr and sr seasons at BSU.

His replacement at BSU will bear some interest in 2 or 3 years. Geraldo Hiwatt, a 6' 4" Dutch exchange student that played a couple of years of high-school ball in Boise. He is raw but improving quickly. His straight line speed rivals Young but he doesn't have the quicks in and out of breaks that Young has. Hiwatt has played very well in spring ball for BSU and will be a key member of that offense this year.

At the Combine, Robinson ran 4.45 to Young's 4.53. He did 17 reps of 225, had a 40" vertical, a 10'6" broad jump, a 4.09 shuttle, 6.65 in the cone.

Every number better than Young's. ANd he has the numbers on the field as well.

If dallas has the chance to draft him in round 3 i dont see how the cowboys wouldnt draft him. If u look at prospects in round 3 theres none better then young

I don't think he'll last until the third round...
