Gimme's Draftek mock

Since I do not follow the college game, all I know about these prospects are what I read from draft evaluators and see in highlight clips. For the purpose of this mock, I'm using Draftek's ratings primarily because they have a top 500 out.

1. (26) DT Calijah Kancey, Pitt
Analysis: Many of us have wanted a game-changing DT for years. Kancey is only available because of his size, which of course, is a concern. But he has the speed and skills to get consistently in the backfield and disrupt plays.

2. (58) OL Joe Tippmann, Wisconsin
Analysis: Tippmann will spend most of his career at center, but would give us an option at starting guard this year while waiting in the wings behind Biadasz.

3. (80) RB Tyjae Spears, Tulane
Analysis: I'm tempted to go with TE Sam LaPorta here, but Spears should provide good competition at a position where our main back is hurt and we only added bargain help. At TE, we at least have two healthy young players who showed they might can get the job done.

4. (129) G Andrew Voorhees, USC
Analysis: Voorhees would likely go much higher if he was healthy, so this is a futures pick. Next year, when Tippmann takes over at center, Voorhees will be in line to start at LG.

5. (176) TE Luke Schoonmaker, Michigan
Analysis: Other rankings I've seen have Schoonmaker higher than this (some much higher), but if he makes it to our fifth-round pick, he'd be good value to compete with Ferguson and Hendershot.

6. (212) K Jake Moody, Michigan
Analysis: I think we'll have to take Moody with our fifth if we want him, but if we can get him with our sixth, that would be great. Chance to solve our PK issue long term.

7. (246) QB Stetson Bennett, Georgia
Analysis: I'm a big believer in drafting a quarterback every year to develop until you run out of roster room. I kind of wanted the kid from Purdue that Dallas has shown interest in, but he was 206 on this list and I didn't want to use a fifth on him.

There were definitely other ways to go with these picks, with some players I didn't choose having higher values (on this ranking). I do with I'd come away with an NT and maybe if I had used trade downs I could have. I just don't like to try to predict trades.

This is probably better than our actual draft will be.

You might be able to get Voorhees a little later than 4th, since he can't play this year.

So I watched more tape on Kancey..and I'll bump up your grade to a solid B.

I’m not crazy about Kancey, but I really like your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th round picks.

Spears is my third favorite back in this draft.

I do think they’ll take a WR and CB fairly early.

Just replace Kancey with Forbes and I’d be down with it.

I love Spears he runs like TP.

Potential playmaker. Lot of risk associated with it, I think there is alot of bust potential. But he could be a dynamic interior rusher. Those arms are an issue, I don't know if Ive seen a successful interior guy with arms shorter than 30 inches. Gallimore has alligator arms and his are 32. Kancey is good with his handwork though, so that may be some offset.

Wouldn't be my pick at all, but I wouldn't turn my fan card in over it either

Legitimate question as to whether his elite traits will translate. Very few guys possess his talent. I will always gamble on elite talent with production to back it up. He has both.
