According to ESPN radio, Ted Ginn, Jr. has declared for the draft. I do not see this guy being worthy of a first round draft pick at wide receiver. He is still very raw. Now if he slips into the 2nd, he will be worth taking in the same mold as Devon Hester. I do doubt he slips that far and some team will be dissappointed at the time it will take for him to develop into a solid wide receiver. It take most receivers time to make it in the NFL and few teams have the patience for that out of their 1st round picks.

If someone's going take the time with him, he's going to be a hell of a player, much more upside then Hester.

I would take him in the first round. This kid has a lot going for him. Raw or not, you can't deny this kids natural ability. I wish he was a little bigger though. 6'2 would be nice. He will bulk up to around 195' before he is complete, and that is decent size to go with his explosive speed. Not TO/Roy Williams freakish, but nice. More like Marvin Harrison. (No, I'm not declaring him the next Harrison.)

While he learns the WR position in the Pros a team should still be able to get immediate playing time for him in the return game.

Also at WR, while he is still learning the game, at the least he would provide as a decoy or deep threat from time to time.

I am not saying he is someone we should draft in the first, just talking about how he could get playing time early while still learning the ropes.

He is a player that can have a high upside if given the time.

His teammate Anthony Gonzalez also declared, I really like him as a player and route runner, very fast too.

Ginn should have stayed to get more polished at WR. He needs to obviously work on his route running.

But Smith was a senior so he and Gonzales saw a New QB starting next year and they thought they had to strike while the iron was Hot.

Ginn will go in the First round.

Didn't he play DB his Freshman season?.

Yes. Played both ways. He was recruited as the #1 CB prospect in the nation.

Sounds like just the player to bring into the Cowboys with TO and Glenn if you ask me.

Two years ago Parcells told his scouts to find him a Reggie Bush. This is about as close as you can get.

Ginn will go in the 1st. Too much speed, talent and versatality there.
Sure he was still learning the WR position, but look what he done in a few short years. He can make for lack of knowlwdge for now with his speed. Just don't put him in on critical situations unltil he proves he can do it.

Bring up a good point that many will overlook.

I think if bill liked his upside he might do it since he always spends a lower round pick on a Returner.

I still doubt we take a WR in round one though.

I would love Calvin but do not see us trading up.

Brain I think Calvin goes top 5 if you are talking about Calvin Johnson from Georgia Tech

Nice, looks like Michigan might have a chance next year.

No, they still have Carr at head coach.

Colt Brennan, QB for Hawaii is expected to declare for the draft as well.

Well, I would say the problem is Henne.

polished or not, I think he goes top 15 after some ridiculous combine numbers. I would like to take him he he fell to our pick though. We have other quality wr so we can bring him on slowly as he returns kicks and punts.
