..except of course the ints. which caused his demotion.
:laugh1:
I think Bledsoe is a class act all the way, professionally and personally. Easily on a par with Aikman or Jim Kelly or any of the great quarterbacks.
Remember, Bledsoe was brought here, like Vinny was before him, to have a shot at playing as a starter and give this team a chance to compete and to buy time while Romo and Henson settled their backup issue and decide if we still needed to pursue a QB in the draft.
He's done everything this team asked of him and it never was a certainty he'd take us to a SB.
His past history sort of discounted that.
I for one, still think he's going to come to the rescue of this team. I beleive that at some point, with the playoffs on the line and/or if Romo should hit a wall or be injured, that Bledsoe will be given his very last shot at helping this team.
All I ask is that for whatever the reason if he does return to play, let the guy play his normal game and don't just force him into gameplans that don't suit him.
I think that most of the gameplans Bledsoe had to work with last year, along with the crippled OL and then again early this year, with having to constantly come from behind with conservative offensive gameplans, just isn't using Bledsoe effectively.
The guy can throw the ball and if we commit to throwing the ball and run second, I think he can be effective. But we did just the opposite the whole time he was here.
We try to play conservatively, eat clock and play defense to minimize scoring by the opposition.
Unfortunately, it also minimizes our scoring opps and magnifies the errors because we don't play a wide open offense and don't play aggressively offensively, which most top teams in the NFL do.
Bledsoe would be much more successful if we opened the ATTACK UP AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT SOME MISTAKES.
The Colts don't worry about offensive mistakes. The Pats don't worry about offensive mistakes. And neither of their teams have 'lights-out' defenses.
Bledsoe would be more effective if he had a HC that wasn't trying to reinvent his 80's teams in 2006.
It doesn't escape me and it shouldn't escape anybody else that Bledsoe is about the 9th QB to not be successful under Parcells.
If Romo ultimately ends up struggling, could it be BP..?
Hmmm...
Just because we won last week with a total longshot QB doesn't mean everybody before him stinks and it doesn't mean we are riding off into the sunset with another SB trophy.
Reality suggests something in between.
Romo maybe it and he may fizzle in 2-3 games.
We don't know. But whatever we do, to be realistic, I'd suggest we keep Bledsoe warm, involved and not alienated.
Just my thoughts.
