Give Carpenter a little credit today

Give Carp some credit today. Carp had a really nice sack. He timed it perfectly, shot the gap, and got the sack. Hasselback never had a chance. He actually played pretty good today.

Believe it or not, Carp (3 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack) had better stats than Ware (2 tackles, 1 sack). Not saying Carp is better than Ware. Again, not implying Carp is better than Ware.
I just expected Ware to have a much better game statistically considering who he was going against. Hardly heard Ware's name mentioned the whole game except for one sack and one offsides call. In fact, the whole defensive line was pretty quiet. Solid defensive team performance overall, though.

Maybe we can fool a 4-3 team into giving us a second rounder for him. Detroit owes us.

I am surprised that we only had 3 sacks against the Seahawks today. I really thought we would have more. It looked like both OLBs tried speed rushing and the tackles just pushed both of them past the pocket and Hasselback didn't hold onto the ball. Brooking and Carpenter did a great job up the middle, hope Carp does the same next week,

Are we throwing in Romo too?

No, we're not throwing in Romo, but I'm sure I can convince Jerry to sign you for 1 day in order to trade you to St. Louis for a compensatory 7th round pick.

I tried to make it as clear as possible and had to add that disclaimer. But, I'm sure someone will read it that way:rolleyes:

Shoot, I'll give him some credit. And I'm wearing a straight face right now. The guy played well today. He made some crucial plays, especially that sack.

I thought he did pretty well today, it's nice to see him progressing some this season. I only noticed one play that made me get up and make an *** of myself at the stadium.

I'll give him credit for not falling down and whiffing before he hit the QB. One play in in 4 years, live it up Carp.

Actually, it was a pretty damn good sack and took some pretty good athleticism. He timed his launch just right, had he been a split second later the RB would have been able to take his legs out with ease. There's something to be said for giving credit where credit is due, Carpenter is due some credit from our (at times) overly-critical fan base.

Look, I understand that he got the sack and he has to make the play when it's presented to him, which he did, but it's not as if he ran through a blocker or actually blew someone up to get the sack.

He was basically untouched on his way to the QB.

Showing some speed on the rush? Sure. Nice play? Yes. Some great, tough football play? Hardly.

Again, deserves credit, but kinda like giving someone a gimme credit from a foot out.

I won't give him credit for squat. He's doing what he should've been doing 2 years ago. Props to him but he had a big *** hole to run throuhg. I don't think he's as bad as we make him out to be but aside from the sack it was same ol' Carpenter today. He's a back up middle linebacker. Our nickle linebacker. He's not terrible.
