Say what you will about the guy but he had a MONSTER game for us tonight. He was all over the field making big plays; especially in the 1st half. I was so glad to hear the reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated. ;) With a year coming up (hopefully) when we have so many holes to fill on D, I hope he can still perform at this level and allow us to draft for other areas of need.

:star:

He was Johnny on the Spot twice and made a good play on a screen...great work.

If he's so great you'd spell his name right ;)

EDIT: It said Brady in the original thread title right?

I think he's been a lot better in Pasqualoni's scheme than Wade's scheme.

It's kinda sad that was his 2nd career INT. It's even more sadder that his last and only other INT was a pick 6 on Vince Young back in 2006.

Not everybody is Troy Palamaul-u; he is a solid player who had a great game. We need more of those types.

:laugh1: No prob. I'm right there with you. :laugh1:

Bradie played well. And considering ESPN said he wasn't going to play tonight, I'm impressed.

I agree he had a good game...I just don't particularly like threads that give credit to players who haven't played well. Did he have a nice game, sure. But that defense - which he is one of the leaders of - gave up 100 and some odd yards rushing and collapsed in the 4th quarter. Not to mention the fact he's been little more than a spectator all year.

I don't mind giving him his props, it just seems to me that guys like him rest on games like this and think they are playing well.

I agree Bradie had a great game. He is always solid for us. I still don't understand the people calling for an upgrade at ILB. Bradie and Lee are going to be here together for the next few years at least imo.

It's the same scheme. And Bradie's played well all year, people just didn't credit it when we were losing games.

He's a really underrated player. This is the 3rd or 4th year in a row where he's played at just under a probowl level. Plus, he's a vocal player in the locker room. We're lucky to have him.

Very odd day indeed.. we've agreed on a number of subjects now.

In regards to some of your posts i've seen, when you advocate for an upgrade at ILB, i assume you're referring to the back ups then?

If we agree that Bradie is a very good player for us, and i assume we agree that Lee is going to play at a high level as well.

I think our primary area of disagreement comes from some of your takes in the Romo-leadership thread. I don't have a problem with you in general, RTH. I have a low tolerance for foolishness, and pop off when I shouldn't some times. No harm, no foul, I hope.

I think Lee's ready to start. Brooking looks to be about done, though, and I there are obvious concerns about Lee staying on the field. We only have three starting-quality ILBs right now, and I'd rather see us try to find a younger player to rotate in next season while we develop some depth inside. Brooking goes in the 'rather let him go one year too early rather than one year too late' category.

You have your opinion.. same as anyone else. I don't mind that one bit. No harm, no foul as you say.

As for Bradie and Lee.. if they can stay healthy as you said, i have no doubt they are both high quality players who can make alot of plays for our defense in the coming years, provided we do something about the lack of a NT on this defense.

I couldn't see us, unless a top prospect just fell into our laps, taking an ILB any higher than say the 3rd or 4th round in the next 2 years though. I understand we need to get backups who would be servicable if Bradie or Lee would go out.. but i'd rather keep Brooking for at least another year if for nothing else than to fill in and show the young guys how to play the game. He's been a great LB in this league for years and i think just the knowledge that he has to pass on would be invaluable to the younger guys.

I don't know where you were thinking about taking an ILB, but i feel like NT is probably our biggest need on this defense, along with safety.

Safety i would like someone in the 1st or 2nd round.. no matter what. NT, you could probably find a good one in the 3rd-5th, and i'd probably take more than one prospect at that position. Those are really the only two positions i feel we definately need a huge upgrade.

Honestly, even though it's the defense that fell apart this year, other than S, I'd prefer to spend my earliest picks on the OL. I'd keep Spears and Sensabaugh, replace Brooking with a younger FA if a quality player were available, look for a FA DT to replace Igor, and then hope to get the rest of the work done through developing young players we already have and though better coaching. Safety's the only position I'd consider with a high pick, and then only if someone good is available and a value where we pick.

Our defense has looked really bad at times this year, but we've got a lot of the pieces. i agree with some that fixing Safety fixes a lot of problems. I just don't know where we can find a playmaking safety.

Well OL is probably our biggest need overall for sure, I agree. We definately need to use some premium picks and sign a FA or 3 to help us out there.

As far as the defense though, i really feel like if we get a decent NT and a playmaking safety and then fill in some depth with best value picks, our defense will be alot better next year.
