IMO, WDE is the biggest need we have. Pure speed rusher. I'd love to come away from this draft with any combination of these players.
Anthony Barr
Dee Ford
Demarcus Lawrence
Jeremiah Attochu
Chris Smith
Marcus Smith
Trent Murphy
Kyle Van Noy
I know all these aren't pure speed rushers and several project better to rush OLB but they can all get after the QB and bring pressure.
I'd love to add Crighton or Kareem Martin or even Ealy later on but think they project more to SDE. With the resigning of Spencer, no garauntee of his health but I think Selvie would be better fit on the right side along with Crawford and even Mincey as a little depth. Pressure on the QB is such a telling stat for defensive success. BTW I'd love to have Donald just assume he'll be gone. Just my opinion...

People need to realize that there is more than 1 way to get to the qb besides with just pure speed. Take a look at the top of the sack leader board and there's plenty of guys who are 275+ and didn't run a 4.6 40.

Correct. Speed was all Ware really had the last few years. If he didn't get around the edge, he was a non-factor. Interior rushing is pretty important, that is why Donald will go way before our choice. It is also why centers are becoming important all of the sudden. That is one thing I am glad we saw last year and got out of the Costa business before it was too late.

I am with you. As much as I don't like Ealy in the first I would take him if he was still there in the second if we got Barr in the first. Now the ability to play DE and 3 tech would be great. I don't need a guy that is just ok at 2 spots in rd 1.

I'm all for drafting 2 of the best pure DE's avail rounds 1-5.

I don't mind taking two DEs in the first 5 rounds but chances are unless Barr falls to you or you trade down you are not getting one in the first.

I don't mind taking 2 DE's the 1st two rounds if the BPA board falls that way. I would take two DTs also if that's the best guys on the board. I would go RT G also if it works out that others are gone and would be extremely happy.

Barr and Easley would be pretty sweet, if unlikely.

If I'm the GM I'm sending a third to Tennessee and collecting one (1) Aaron Donald. Some guys you just know are gonna be stars. There will be a DE in the second with a higher floor than Barr, who I do like.

Well this thread is about taking two DE's but if I could work the war room I'd get 4 DL, 2 LB, G, S, and/or maybe a QB if one fell....
