And go......

Trade for only or does available free agents count?

Some guys we might be able to get in a trade who could probably help us and not cost too much:
  • Muhammad Sanu- currently in Mia. At 32, not ideal age but has had big playoff games in past. Very durable and competent receiver.
  • Antoine Wesley- currently in Ariz. 24, big rangy receiver who killed us last year when we got beat by the cards. He’s been a competent backup for two seasons. His size makes him a good X receiver if we want Lamb in the slot a lot.
  • Devin Duvernay- currently in Balt- 24, good slot receiver and has two years NFL experience. Small-ish receiver who can be a good slot guy.
  • Jakeem Grant- currently in Cle- 29- very small but blazing speed. Nice slot receiver and an outstanding return man on STs. If Turpin doesn’t work out, this guy would,
I don’t know the contract details of these players so money and cap details would be a factor. But I picked these guys because they might be acquired in a trade without much cost yet have the potential to help immediately.

Kliff won't trade Wesley. Wesley will one day he his WR Coach.
Grant (local kid) is a specialty guy but at 29 is probably past his peak athleticism.
Sanu is a good call as he may get squeezed in MIA and should have some WR3/WR4 life left in him.

Duverney is interesting but not sure he had ever developed the hands or route running he lacked at UT.

Sanu or Grant. Grant may intrigue me more with his speed and versatility. Sanu might fit better because we lack leadership in the wr room. Hes that Vet that can help.

Sources are he is contemplating retirement. So you wouldn’t know his level of commitment to the season.

So ....... We need him for a few games
Get him in here and get him in shape ...... He won't have much load to carry ...... Will be the 3rd or fourth target after Lamb, the Tightend, and probably the running back.

It is so funny, all of the receivers that are named would fare no better than any other. If we didn't already have Washington, his name would be on the list. Why not try to get DeVante, Tyreek, Diggs, etc?

Unless it's an unfortunate big injury this summer to Lamb or Tolbert, .. with counting on No.2 guy Gallup's eventual return, and Tolbert set to be our No.2 and No.3,
....I'm not for trading picks for serviceable type WRs right now.

At this early point in the summer, I'd like to see what becomes of Houston, Vashar, and Simi by preseason's end. - Could we have at least one big pleasant surprise in that
we don't have to up draft picks for other WRs.
And even with other minimum wage vet WRs, i'd more prefer to sign them on as free agents, one year deal, incentive deals... instead of trading and giving up draft picks for them.
