Quick I understand your reasoning regarding waiting to see what these young receivers have.
The problem is we aren’t really gonna know until the regular season starts and they are matched up against opponents who aren’t teammates and there’s more on the line than a ps game.
- We're going the same route with the young backup offensive tackles, ..not considering vet backup offensive tackles, that's an even tougher sell and gamble than the WR unit, imo,
considering it involves protection and health of your franchise QB, but that's the route they are deciding to go..
- The club may have already decided that their young guys still give them a chance at having a productive unit, vs what they can bring in off the street.
and they would would prefer to see them get count snaps and experience to better evaluate progress, to which they may not get if they brought in vet guys.
- And it's a reason why those vet guys are still out available on the street, even with NFL camps already going into their 2nd week.
- Plus too, don't NFL teams tend to wait until after 1st or 2nd game of NFL regular season, to prevent guarantee roster salaries ?
