Give Wade credit

lets not make excuses (and no you may not be but...) Wade had all year to win this year and go farther than year's past. If Cowboy's do not win and win one playoff game, then wade and co. should be gone.

8-4 is good now but we know where we are in the standings and what it will take to go further into the playoffs. on paper, the record sounds good but on the field it is poor coaching with occasional raw talent pulling out a few more wins.

I don't know if he should be gone, but i do agree that the 8-4 record is a bit deceiving. If I'm not mistaken, we are now 1-4 vs teams that currently have winning records and 7-0 vs teams with are .500 or worse. Granted, 2 or 3 of those losses could have gone the other way, but still, that trend will have to end for the Cowboys to make the playoffs.

That is misleading as well. When Dallas faced Alt they were 4-1 on the season now that they have sustained some injuries and no longer have a winning record they do not count?

I would count them, i was just stating things how they are right now. If you want to make it 2-4 instead of 1-4, that's fine with me.

Rinse and repeat. Wade is a piss poor head coach. Don't make yourself look like an absolute idiot by ever praising this guy. The Cowboys win at times IN SPITE OF Wade being the coach, not BECAUSE OF him being the coach.

Options?

It appears my favorite choice as Wade's replacement will not be an option since it sounds like he might be going back to Seattle.

  • I like Shanahan, but really not as a HC as much as an offensive coordinator. (better than Wade though)
  • Dan Reeves head coaching days are probably over, which is why he only wanted a consultant job.
  • Dick Vermeil has said he was done and came back, but at 73, he probably surely is done now
  • Marty Schottenheimer: This is probably my choice at this point. The guy is a great head coach though he like Wade has trouble winning in the playoffs. (though he HAS 5 playoff wins, which is 5 more than Wade). He is a FAR better "head coach" than Wade is.
  • Tony Dungy (a Schottenheimer product), again retired and I'm almost positive he is done with the grind of the football season. He likes the lack of the grind in the booth much better since it gives him more family time.
  • Bill Cowher (another Schottenheimer product) hates Dallas and hates Jerry Jones. No way he comes to Dallas. Nothing left to be said.
  • Jon Gruden: I'm iffy on this guy. I think he is a great motivational guy for a team and proven offensive mind. (hell of a lot better than Garrett) He has proven to do good things with teams, but I'm apprehensive about him probably because he is extremely emotional. Combine that with anger and bad things happen. Try mixing that type of situation with him and Jerry Jones bumping heads at the time. Sounds like the Jimmy vs Jerry fight that ended Jimmy's time in Dallas.

I just want the organization to be rehabbed. Stephen Jones as Owner. Hire a damn GM. fire wade.

I don't see Wade or Romo as being the key reasons they lost the last two weeks.

Has it occurred to some of you that just maybe San Diego was the better team?
They had scored >21 the last 18 games and we stopped that streak. The team DID play with heart, they just had a lapse after dWare went down for one drive, failed to score from the one yard line, and missed a chip shot FG. But they certainly did come to play.

San Diego's offense is damn good...It's DEFENSE on the other hand is not and it was BANGED up as well...I guess it is Wade that runs the offense that couldn't score...

I have to admit that I've been harsh on Romo, but he *has* indeed played as good as Dallas has needed him to play the last couple of weeks.

What's frustrating is that in the last 2 weeks they're possibly 2-4 plays total from winning those 2 games. And it's not big glaring issues that can only be solved w/ drastic changes. We're talking about tackling, limiting penalties, making FGs and just basic execution of the plays called.
