Given what we have to work with... what can be done to resurrect this team for the future beside dumping JJ and trading Dak. As I stated before we are hog tied to him for the next few years.

1) Address the Oline. I believe another year under the rookies belts (Beebe and Guyton) will pay dividends. Add either in the first or second round another G.I think this is an OLine that can do the job. The key here is Dak can no longer run and needs really solid protection to be successful.
2) Draft or swap a pick for a real NT either in the first or second round.
3) I think the key to any possible success is a younger head coach that will design an offense to suit Dak or an OC that will.
4) Zim is not the answer so perhaps Fangio or a young defensive minded coach.
5) Need a true every down type RB in the third round... we have no 4th round.

Lurie is paying Fangio HC money; for Jerry to pilfer him from Philly on an honest offer deal is going to take the pitch of the century

Nothing will ever change with this team as far as team personnel goes because as long as Dak the broken QB is still on the team, all pros at every position will not help the team to success. Jerry is another topic, but Dak is the problem in the foreseeable future.

The Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls despite Jerry.

Nobody's ever won anything with Dak.

Say what you want, but that means something.

Personally I hope the Jones boys disappear. Other than that there is no hope.

If I was in fantasy land I would fix the team as follows.

1. Johnson or Glenn as the next HC. Clean house in the coaching staff. Go young and hungry so they can at least be immune to the toxic culture for a while.

2. Trade Parsons for hopefully a 1 and a 3. Not getting more than that for that moron.

3. Cut ties with Lawrence, Martin, Zeke and Steele.

4. Trade Diggs for a 1 and 4/5 maybe. Guy is a clown. Refusing to put his body in the mix is a no go for me.

5. Give Mazi one more chance.

6. Draft DT, DL, RB, WR and LB. Double up on the DL with projects. Best available at each of those positions. They need to hit on the picks.

7. Open competition at RT. Smith moves to LT permanently. I keep Guyton on a short leash. Guy is a loser. Try to beat the hell out of him to snap him out of it. Favor Richards to win that job. Trade Guyton for. 6/7 as soon as possible. Again that guy is a loser. No use for a lazy rookie.

8. Actually go to FA market to get a G and a LB. Not JAGs. Starters.

9. Do everything I can to pump Overshown up. That guy is the only one on that defense that cares.

10. Fire McClay. The guy sucks. Compared to Jerry he is Einstein but let’s be fair…the roster here sucks and has been soft for a decade.

11. I make clear that no one is safe. Not physical then you are gone.

12. Get bigger in the front 7. I need monsters at DT and MLB. Let Overshown be an off ball missle.

13. Apologies to the fans for years of mismanagement.

Nothing is changing, everything will remain the same for about 3 years.
It's a bad situation for hopeful fans, because there is absolutely nothing that can be done at this point with current franchise crushing contracts.
Jerry is a total idiot, Stephen is right there with Jerry.
As a fan base we have no other choice if we are talking loyalty, otherwise we could leave and go support another team.
I have accepted the fact that at my age I will probably not out live the stupidity which is the Jones family.
I was born a Cowboys fan and will always be a loyal fan, but the Jones are horrible people at this point in my fandom.

Fire GM
Fire HC/OC/DC
Bench QB (already done)

The only thing that will resurrect the team is the Joneses making drastic changes to how they manage the team. They can’t keep losing players and continue to sit on their hands in free agency.

After the offseason all they had was a rebuild, but that went to ctap when they extended Dak. So now just watch guys waste their careers for 3 to 4 years unless a 1st Round QB gets drafted, 4 gets mad and demands a trade...then they can go for it. But, I don't expect the Jones boys to do anything more than the trash process they've been doing.

They can never afford to have a bad draft under their plan, and every team does…at least every so often.

Their plan depends on nailing practically every pick. They certainly can’t afford to whiff on their first two picks like last year with Mazi and Schoonmaker.

Coaching still matters. The Cowboys (and their cheap owner especially) don't understand or appreciate how important that really is. Yes there are all kinds of roster moves they can make. Trade here. Trade there. But until they get a top notch head coach and staff, this team will be limited in their post season success.

And I'm talking a Andy Reid or Jimmy Johnson type HC.

I mean I completely understand how it’s more economical and ideal to use guys on rookie deals over second contract types, but I don’t see how they don’t see how they won’t be able to compete after some time.

The system is rigged that way. Im not sure if they fail to understand that or are so arrogant and stubborn that they refuse to believe that what’s been proven to not work eventually will.

O line needs a year to see how the young guys do
BEST thing for that situation is A NEW OL COACH

DL has to be completely revamped. Lawrence is done and Mazi frankly does not look like he will ever be much more than above average. NOT a true Quality starter

RB and WR obviously need strong reinforcement

We need at least one more LB that can really make plays and I am disappointed in what I see of Liafu and Kendricks is old
so bluntly speaking we need 2

Trade Diggs. simply not a team guy

We need at least ONE safety that is a playmaker

New GM, HC, OC, DC and staff OBVIOUSLY

But we know the first is not happening

You posted most of the things the team needs, but you forget the wart on the butt of the team, Dak!

Lose out to have the number 1 position in the draft.
Hire a good young coach and staff.
Use your cap space to sign some free agents. This would include a guard and an offensive tackle and a lot more. They can and should be involved in 1st day free agents.

Trade down from 1 in the draft and take advantage of the deep class at dtackle, edge, and running back.
