The Cowboys’ quarterback is rarely included in the discussion of elite QBs. He probably wouldn’t even make the top five. But S.L. Price details why Romo “deserves your unconditional love.” “On paper, Romo ranks among the finest,” Price writes. “A supposed choker, he has the best fourth-quarter passer rating in the regular season (102.5) of any QB, ever, and his 11 game-winning drives since 2011 — the latest a 14-play march on the road, with Romo connecting on six of nine attempts for 67 yards, in the final 4:45 to set up the winning field goal against the Giants on Sunday — lead the league. This season, the 6-foot-2, 236-pound Romo has thrown just seven interceptions while being lodged, as usual, among the NFL leaders in completion percentage (64.2, eighth), TDs (23, fourth) and passer rating (97.2, seventh).”

While it's impressive that he leads the league in game-winning drives since 2011, it's also an indication of the fact that this team has been in too many close games where the final possessions by either team are far too important.

Love Tony....was hating the play-calling and lack of execution in the first half, but thankfully, they turned it around in the 2nd half and the defense played well for the most part

I'm no fan of Phil Simms, but I'm glad he stuck up for Romo by stating facts that many fans have been saying all along. They made up the elimination games stat to make Romo look worse.

It wasn't Collingsworth it was Phil Sims, who has publicly been a fan of Romo

While I think it's a great article, I think it will only lead to even more derision for Romo. Reverse psychology.

Isn't that necessary? Otherwise, how could every cloud have a silver lining?

It would just be: Has a silver lining. And that really doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
