Man I hate griping about the referees. It's so sour grapes.

And it's not like we deserved to win this game anyway.

But when was the last time the outcome of an NFL game was overturned because of an offensive (not special teams) penalty?

I'm not going to rue this game forever, like I will the 1994 NFCCG, aka Deion Sanders mugs Irvin in front of 200 million people and costs Dallas the 4th straight Super Bowl win and no flag is thrown game.

Penalties are called on the defense frequently in those situations. But the offense?

Collinsworth said it best. He said you HAVE to call that penalty because it was so blatant and obvious.

I agree but I hate the logic.

I don't have a problem with the penalties that were called on us. I have a problem with the penalties that weren't called on the Foreskins. They held Ratliff and the rest of our D line all night long. No calls.

You can't let that one go.... As blatant a hold as u could ever have. But in your defense they didn't seem to get called for any holds, especially the obvious one on ratliff.

If you feel bad imagine how the lions fans feel. They legitamitely got robbed by a terrible call, well a terrible rule.

The hold by Barron was blatant. I hate that he did it. Guys hold all the time, but they try to hide it. Not Barron. I'm so mad at him right now. The official made the right call. It sucks for Romo and Roy, two much-criticized players who combined for a heroic finish -- not.

Absolutely true!!! Skins were getting away with obvious violations but few to no flags trown on them... :bang2:

You aint kidding. They held all night. The officials called 12 penalties against Dallas. We don't get too many breaks.

You do not HAVE to call anything short of murder on the final play of the game IMO. I don't think that hold impacted the game because Romo was avoiding Orakpo anyways, and a ref should see that.

I'm not saying it's the reason we lost, but I don't think a holding penalty like that should be the way to end a game like that.

Yeah, but I've seen a lot of games where even blatant fouls aren't called against the offense.

I'm trying to figure out if there is any other time this has happened- I don't remember it happening.

I'm just curious. It's not like we deserved the win- but the Skins didn't either.

I think the refs would agree that it sucks to end a game on one of their calls, but this one had to be made. You can't just cheat your way to victory on the final play of the game. Barron simply got abused and it cost us the game.

But the Skins did basically cheat their way to victory. Collinsworth highlighted a really sneaky and effective hold on Brooking that saved McNabb a headache.

That wasn't called. Numerous fouls against Ware weren't called. Roy Williams got mugged on a post route and we got no flag then.

The point is all NFL games are full of missed calls that affect the outcome of the game.

I'm not trying to defend Barron, but to find a precedent for this type of officiating.

I can't think of a single game that ended on an offensive penalty that overturned the winning score. Anyone know of such a game?

Bump. Anyone know of a game-ending, game-winning play overturned by an offensive penalty?

That pass deep to Roy Williams where he was mugged got no penalty. That was absolutely blatant and stopped one of our drives.

Skins didn't earn this game. Refs did help them.

Dallas certainly made their mistakes and were flagged for them... But late into the game it really seamed the refs had an hidden agenda... Barron as well as others killed Dallas' chances for a come back victory, but the non calls on the skins were sickening! Makes you wonder....

The problem was Barron was holding all game . If it was a half hold or a normal hidden hold he might have gotten away with it but it was SO blatant and not the first hold of the game by Barron on 98 .

There are missed calls on both sides of the game . Like the mugging of Armstrong on the second RZ pass . But normally it is tit for tat but Barrons hold was that blatent it had to be called . It was just unfortunate for the boys it came with 4 seconds left in the game .
