HALL WANTED TO FIGHT A FALCON LAST WEEK

Posted by Mike Florio on November 8, 2008, 11:24 a.m.
At halftime of last week’s game between the Falcons and the Raiders, former Falcons (and also former Raiders but now current Commanders) cornerback DeAngelo Hall waited for a member of the Falcons.
For the purposes of fighting him.
Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking recently mentioned the incident during a spot with Buck and Kincade on 680 The Fan in Atlanta. Here’s what Brooking said, without naming the former teammate in question.
“One of our ex-players, sitting there in the tunnel, waiting on us to come through the halftime to pick a fight with one of my teammates,” Brooking said. “I’m just sitting there as I’m going to the locker room thinking, ‘Geez, man, I mean, I’m so glad we’re removed from all that mess.’ You know, because of the camaraderie that we have as a team from a players standpoint, the relationships we’ve developed with our coaches. I mean, it’s a great working relationship.”
We don’t know which player Hall wanted to thump (or, as the case may be, get thumped by) or why he wanted to attempt some thumping, but it’s a sign that Hall has a long way to go before he’ll persuade the Commanders to give him a long-term deal.
Then again, maybe he is changing. Consider this quote from a Friday appearance on Sirius NFL Radio with Bruce Murray and Carl Banks. When asked how bad things are in Oakland, Hall said this: “I’m still a firm believer in they’re really not that bad. It was definitely unfortunate the way things worked out for me but I still don’t think it’s a bad place. I still think they’re going to somehow get it turned around. I’ve got a lot of respect for Al Davis. He talked to me like a man, told me I was the last one to come so I’m the first one to go. And I respect that. Gave me the opportunity to go where I wanted to go and that’s all I can ask for.”

Hopefully, Hall will destroy the Skins locker-room. We have enough stuff with Adam Jones.

A good friend of mine unfortunately is a big skins fan.
I am praying for R.W. or T.O. to light him up.:laugh2:

Hall is a punk. He is over-rated too. I just don't see him getting on the field with Carlos Rogers, Shawn Springs and Fred Smoot being the top CB's. Unless they play more dime-packages, he probably won't see the field.

Find out which WR was toasting him and you'll know who he wanted to fight. :laugh2:

Roddy White!

I think it was actually Michael Jenkins that scored 2 TD's vs. the Raiders last week. So it was almost positively Jenkins he was going after. :D

White only had 54 yards...

They've got their own Pacman on their team now.

I was just break'n stones. Not sure who it was. I believe ya. Hall is a punk and would love to see somebody kick his butt.

Bet he wasn't waiting for Colombo after that Atlanta/Cowboys game.

good guess

Roddy probably had a fantastic game at Hall's expense, and he probably talked some trash, or at least returned Hall's trash-talking

I remember Hall when at Virginia Tech, I guess the NFL got to his head because his attitude wasn't too bad while playing for the Hokies.

On a side note, I went to highschool with his wife, Sha. lol

You guys really UNDERESTIMATE DeAngelo Hall's talent.... WATCH REAL CLOSELY... he actually ties TO's shoelace at around the 1 yard line.

All this time I wondered what that was all about.

Anyone who honestly wanted him need look no further than today for how much better the Raiders secondary was without him.

Last week Atlanta TORCHED the Raiders, by beating Hall to death. This week, with no Hall, Steve Smith was held to 1 catch for 9 yards and the secondary came up with 4 picks, including 2 by the guy (Baker) who replaced Hall.

Just getting Hall out of that secondary made it much better. SO glad he isn't in Dallas. So glad.

We shall see. In my opinion, this is a positive move for a couple of reasons:

1. No more Leigh Torrence. Hall is much better then Torrence. Torrence was horrible.
2. Hall is only 24. This is probably one of the best, if not the best, locker room he has been in. Guys like London Fletcher, Cornelius Griffin, Shawn Springs etc. will be a positive influence much like they were with Rogers.
3. Yes, I would have been against this move had it been with the Cowboys for that very reason. Right now, the Commanders locker room is seemingly much tighter.
4. Also, Zorn has established who is in charge. See the sideline berating of Clinton Portis.
