Glenn signed for $750k?

really it is nothing to get worked up about. He will either by signed by july 25th or he will be released that morning. I cant imagine jerry holding him hostage all summer and making him miss an opportunity somewhere else.

I agree Theebs. More than likely, whether or not Shango is right or not... we'll probablly hear something final within about a week. Jerry knows it's a distraction, so he wants to get past it too.

Just got off the phone with Shango.

He was basing the info from CowboysPride.net who was reporting that thru an emailer they sent to him.

I guess they were going off the rumor that was flying around.

This could very well be the plan though for both sides.

If you listen to this Stephen Jones interview from last week he states that the team will not pull the waiver off the table, but they when asked about the monetary issues he says that's in house stuff.

So well just have to wait and see, but for now nothing is done.

Shango just reported Terry Glenn was signed for the $750,000 he was asking for... but I can't find it anywhere else... anyone else heard anything outside of Shango?

Cowboys' Pride sent me an email yesterday saying that was the case.

So apparently posting a few videos on youtube makes you a reliable source of insider Cowboys information now. Interesting.

I know for a fact that he knows some reliable sources. I was assuming one of them contacted him. Names you would know.

again, I don't like that Jerry folded -- he was going to sign for 300 and something earlier.

Not much of a "gamble". Nitpicking over a few hundred thousand should make no difference to us at all. Just be glad it is done and let's hope the knee holds up. If it does, there is no better receiver available out there. TG is far superior to anyone available.

well, before we start debating about Glenn again, let's first figure out if Shango is right or not. no sense in fighting over a rumor. :p:

Why stop now? :laugh2:

Just wait for rototimes to report it. If rototimes reports it, then it has to be true....

;)

Thats ridiculous. I knopw Jerry paid him 5 mill last year but to say he folded over 250 K is a bit over the top. From TG perspective he could either retire or play for possibly 500k and risk further permament damage to his body whether it be the same knee or a new injury. If I was in his situation and had a lot of money I am not sure I would want to risk further injury that may effect the quality of my life in retirement for 500 K.

I am sure Jerry can see that point too!

I think that you don't understand the injury -- Glenn is going to have microfracture surgery within the next few years -- his knee is screwed -- it doesn't matter whether or not he plays on it or not, he's likely looking at several major knee surgeries over the next 10 years. This year is about whether he can play with the pain and whether the staff can keep the swelling in his knee down to allow him to make it through the season, not about hurting it more.

Well maybe not, but playing again this year will only make the knee worse, so it isn't a foregone conclusion. The surgeries should he play this year are going to much more severe than if he were to retire.

I don't think that ever happened and the media has never said they were doing that. Only that it wasn't what his agent had told him and that he fired the agent.(and now has been re-hired)

Like others on here, I would like to see Glenn give us a big year, but considering the situation with his knee and his age, I can't help but still have reservations though.

I do understand that injury. He could still tear the MCL, ACL in that knee and make the whole thing even worse affecting his life in retirement. Is that worth 500K to a man that has millions. I doubt it?

Ligament damage? That's the least of his worries. His ligaments are no more likely to go than any player of his age. That isn't a unique risk or one that is made worse by his current problems.

Face it. He's going to very likely going need a complete knee replacement in the next 10-15 years whether he plays this year or not.
