Glover and Ellis **Merged Threads**

It's hard to say -- Last year, Ellis had 22 tackles and 6 sacks through six games. Now he has 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks

Glover is about equal - 2004 - 17/3, 2005- 12/3

Less tackles due to less time for both guys. They seem on pace on sacks when you consider that Ellis really dropped off last year after the first 6 games. I guess Bill crunches stats... Keeping them fresh should make both of them better as the year goes on, whereas last year they slumped

We all know that Ellis and Glover weren't happy about the 3-4 switch and even more unhappy about reduced snaps....
Since I'm too lazy to do the research, I'm wondering what they're numbers are last year versus this year. Seems to me like they are making about the same number of plays and sacks as they were last year only this year they are doing it with fewer snaps. And there are other players that are making big plays and sacks on defense too.
Hmmm maybe BP's strategy is working after all....?

I agree that the rotation is helping them. They are also being aided significantly by an influx in talent.

Ellis and Glover are still making a lot of plays out of 4 man lines where they have similar responsibilities to what they had in the past.

As a team, the Cowboys are +5 on sacks after 6 games (15 last year to 20 this year through 6 games).

Dallas finished with 33 sacks last year, if I'm not mistaken. They are on pace for 53 sacks this year. If the D-line stays healthy, their current rotation will make that 53 sacks look more and more likely each week.
