Is it me or did LG have more defensive holding penalties than any d lineman? Ever? I think he had 3 or 4 of those called on him. I still think he is a good player, but at his salary, he very well could be gone.

Don't just cut him. How many of you guys think we could get a 4th round pick for him?

I'm still amazed at those defensive holding penalties. I wonder if someone sent a message to the league to look at him for that for some reason.

I think we could package him and Ellis and get a first rounder but I'd want the pick next year not this year because the CBA. only being able to prorate SB's for 3 years will make signing first rounders even more diffcult this year and eat up the rookie pool quick as well as cap space.

I think you can get more for him then just a 4th round pick. At a 3 Technique in a 43, he is exceptional IMO. What 4th round DT selection can you draft that will be able to give you 6 to 8 Sacks, 45-50 tackles and the kind of leader ship that Glover can? I think we might be able to get a 3rd round pick out of him. Time will tell I suppose.

At least 2 were in the game where he was taking snaps at DE. I think that DTs get to hold like crazy - when he was at DE he used the same technique but the refs had a better view.

may be tough to trade glover at all. in order to trade him you will have to pay his 1.5 mil bonus. thats alot of money to pay for a guy and then trade him and eat it. and a 4th is about all you'd get at his age. not likley we will do anything but cut him, or keep him

I suggested trading them both for a first rounder yesterday and was rediculed. Alot of people seem to think that we won't get much for either guy. Even if we can't get a 1st or 2nd pick for both of them, we can still get at lest a 3rd for Ellis and a 4th for Glover. This would also ensure that we give them to teams not in our division.

I'm sure you could call them on every play if you wanted to.

I think the fact that he is smaller hurt him if he was trying to push through a guard/tackle or even just a guard or center. They are much bigger and strength can only do so much.

Defensive holding? Offensive maybe, but not defensive.

What's Glover's salary situation, though? Could that hinder a potential trade? And, if a team is offering, say, a 4th-round pick, is that worth us absorbing the entire salary cap hit in one year as opposed to spreading it out by releasing him after June 1st?

I'd love to get a pick for him, but I just don't see a lot of 30-year olds traded for picks anymore. Seems like those kinds of players are simply released nowadays. We'll see, though.

It would have to be a sign and trade with both players. We don't have the leverage on Ellis, but we do on Glover (thanks to the bonus dates). I think both players would be willing to do this however.
