To answer your question, no Jerry Jones would have fired Jerry Jones a long time ago if he were anyone but Jerry Jones. He's said so. He'll quit when they plant him.

If Mr. Jones had hired a GM, other than himself, he would have fired him years ago. He said he would have been fired years ago if he didn't own the team.

It is all moot though, because he won't be going anywhere until he is dead and buried. I'm not sure how much different Mr. S Jones will be, so we may have the same issues for the foreseeable future.
