Read at the Zone that fired Panthers Head Coach Reich wanted Stroud over Young but the owner pulled a Dan Snyder and directed him to draft Young.

A lot of receipt collecting with CJ Stroud playing so well. Picking the right/wrong QB can end a career. So glad we haven’t dealt with that in a long time in Dallas. Blessed to go from Romo straight to Dak. Those Henson, Stoerner, Hutchinson, Quincy, Testaverde, Vledsoe, and ‘anyone else I forgot’ days were rough!

I doubt the Raiders could have matched what the Panthers gave Chicago to get the #1 pick and Houston probably was content to keep their pick. The chances of the Raiders landing Stroud were low.
