Gnats have 3 legit pass rushers in JPP, Tuck, and Osi

Cowboys have 1 in D-Ware.

I would love to see the Boys apply pressure just the way the 49ers beat the crap out of Eli in the Conference Championship.

We need to upgrade our pass rush (obvious)...That being said, which players do we realistically target in FA and the draft to improve the pass rush?

....they are better in virtually every PHASE of the game except tight end. Dline is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of all they have a REAL GM in Reese who knows what the hell he's doing: we have JERRAH. There ya go....:banghead:

I'd love to have Mario Williams, but we all know he's going to want an insane amount of money.

One thing that we should take from the Giants is that they always focus on the trenches, even when it's not a priority.

I mean, what team with Umenyiora and Tuck takes another DE in the first round of the draft? A seemingly stupid move gave them a monster in Jason Pierre Paul and solidified their defensive line for a couple of years and has them in the superbowl this year.

bingo!! any good football guy know this. you build a football team from the inside out. dline and oline. instead our idiot owner likes to draft wide receivers, trade for wide receivers and draft linebackers.

My question on issue, is just where Mario Williams would fit in the Dalas 3-4?

I definitely want him signed and added to the defensive side...without question. His cap hit would be justified, and prove out over time.

If he could play a defensive end role, then I would retain Anthony Spencer, attempting to upgrade both offensive line interior and OLB.

I'm still a believer that a strong linebacker group in the 3-4 defense keeps the defensive balance needed to win with a strong offense.

Add Williams on the rush, with DeMarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff, and the trio are disruptive up front. The team already gets 'team' sacks from other members in rotation, linebackers, and secondary.

Add a strong free agent cornerback, and as Cas has been pushing, second round cornerback....and things start to pop.

If additionally able to add a veteran and upgrade to safety, then Dallas quickly returns to a contender role....

In the draft, I would add an OLB as well as ILB both by the fifth round. At least add ILB to the five player free agent shopping list in a month.

Mathias Kiwanuka doesn't exactly suck either...

A contiuous insulting of Jerry Jones doesn't add to discussing what is needed and who could change our views of players filling need.

Your hatred for his function is noted, but fifty bajilion repeats of I want to piss on his picture got old and lame about ten years ago....

We get the picture, you are a 'valid football critic' now...only thing, talk more about the football, and not feelings you have concerning an organizational position. Right now, Jason Garrett is doing the grocery shopping. And he took Rob Ryan and now Bill Callahan with him to the market before the upcoming airing of Iron Chef.

Oh, and they all like tacos.

Ummm. No. What's the point of constant exaggeration? It doesn't convince anyone of anything, and detracts from legitimate conversations.

To the OP, Linval Joseph was another high pick who's contributed for them. I think you're exactly right that they've invested a ton at DL and it's paying off for them. It's all about passing well and keeping the other team from doing so.

They're fortunate that their OL has been as solid as it has. It's given them a luxury of spending picks on DL and in the secondary. Getting an all-pro (my opinion only) WR off the street doesn't hurt, either.

Since 2005, we've drafted four defensive linemen/pass-rushers, an offensive tackle, one wide receiver and one running back in the first round.

The Giants have drafted two defensive linemen/pass-rushers, one wide receiver and four defensive backs in the first round.

We've drafted three offensive linemen in the first three rounds in those seven drafts. The Giants have drafted only one.

We've drafted only one wide receiver in the first three rounds in those seven drafts. The Giants have drafted six.

Hmm ...

You are right my friend, and it is a valid point to bring up about the GM/OWNER, because it's useless talking about any of this if mr Jones isn't going to stop trying to sell his label by drafting for fans.

What use is it talking about building an offensive line when he doesn't take the offensive line seriously enough? What good is it to talk about building the defensive line when he doesn't see it as a serious need?

I'll bet he's thinking about corner/safety, vs, building the baddest defensive line since the 89 Eagles line.

Even the deadskins and sheagles have at 2 Top pass rushers (Cole and Babin, Orapko and kerrigan)

We need pass rushers more than Dbs or offensive linemen in the draft or free Agency

Yeah, we need pass rushers but we need to do it like the Giants did it. Through the draft.

It's not going to happen overnight.

We need them more than DBs. We need OL more than anything. That's priority number 1, 2 and 3 this offseason.

No more lining up on Sundays trying to scheme your way around it.

The Giants have one of the most talented rosters in the league. I would submit that they actually should have had a better record than they ended up with.

Bottom line though, they made it and Dallas has a LOT of holes to fill.

I agree we need pass rushers more than secondary help (if I had to pick 1 or the other).

the Giants have done a better job overall in drafting; no doubt about it. They have also been pretty sharp in FA additions as well.
