I have defended this guy the whole time and now he is starting to show up! I tried defending him before the season and I was laughed at on this message board...too many of the big wigs on this forum think they are cowboys gods and can pass judgement on anyone of our players before that particular player actually gets a real shot at producing...do you any of you remember in Bobbys rookie year how at the end of the year he was showing flashes of potential...oh ya then three years go by of constant scrutiny and it affects the barbie...he starts thinking about a second career outside of football in the media...he does some appearances on BSPN...you all laugh...the few and the proud defended barbie...we were slammed for doing soo...now look!!! he is actually still a decent football player...his career has been saved by one person...keith brooking...a fellow whiteman who represents...Anyway Air Force Vet here...Happy Vets Day everyone....and one more thing GOD BLESS my BROTHER who is in South Korea and God Bless all the other Soldiers!

Im sorry....But Barbie is a bust.......he is playing average.....and we shouldnt accept that....

He is what he is......Barbie is a better prospect now to become someone in the media.....then he has being a solid starter in the NFL........

If he was a 7th round pick....I would call him a success......but he wasnt and he has been a very big disappointment IMHO

He's playing pretty well in his role right now. I think, however, that he will be replaced by one of this year's rookies by next year. I don't hold any ill will against him, but I want the absolute best we can get at every position on the Cowboys. If he wins the competition, good for him.

Dont say that, namely that people think they are Cowboys gods. You should calm down a bit. I didnt defend Carpenter as much as I thought the criticism was over the top. But BC had gotten a shot, and another shot and another. I finally started giving in and somewhat agreeing with the bashers just this season. But then what happens, he actually starts playing well. He had a very good game against the Eagles, decent one against Seattle. His great game a few years back was against the Seahawks too. Maybe its that uniform (Eagles and Hawks look very similar). But seriously he looks pretty decent now, hope it keeps up. And your comment about "fellow whiteman" looks a little suspicious Dawg. People can take that the wrong way, I hope it would be the wrong way. But since you brought up color let me say I have noticed a trend among caucasian sports fans. I've noticed alot of them are extremely quick to bash a white player. Its so quick you wonder about it. I have a friend, big basketball fan, and a white guy. Any time his team has a white player who slumps or doesn't come out blazing as a rookie he is all over him like he never does with a black player. I wonder if he is, consciously or not, doing that as a way to ensure people dont think he favors white players. You know in an effort not to favor them such people go too far the other way. Ive seen it alot with friends and the press. And in the 2007 season, when Carpenter had looked good at the end of 06 and was slow at the beginning of 07 and was getting trashed up and down like crazy here, I was wondering how much of that was in play. But he still has the bust label, rightfully so. Lets see what he does for the next 8 games this year.

Secondly, when even a pro Carpenter guy refers to him with the derogatory "Barbie" you have to wonder.
