Get weirdo McDaniel when he is fired, the stuffed shirts on this site's heads will explode when he walks out with his sweat pants rolled up
I'd take him in a heartbeat. I think he relates to the current generation of players. Enough with the old retreads.

The Jets are a disgrace and so are we, however Douglas built the Eagles team that basically won the Super Bowl on his choices.

Saleh would be an outstanding defensive coordinator.

And then I would look to bring in Vrabel or Pete Carrol

We need a head coach that is involved in the game and who is enthusiastic.
Both of the aforementioned meet that criteria.

No dig at your take, but whoa.....Joe Douglas was surrounded by a good Eagles FO that has included Howie Roseman.....there was some help.

Why Vrabel.......enthusiasm? Pete.....no, winding down.

Me.....I'd go hard at Ben Johnson (Detroit) as HC and hope Jerry let's go of the GM task. Just my 2 cents too. Again, no dig at your take.

Howie made personnel decisions. Where did this narrative that Joe Douglas was making decisions in Philly come from?

Probably from his role of Player Personnel Director. I'm going with Howie Roseman credit. Howie got elevated to Executive VP, but I ain't buying Howie wasn't sitting at the table being heard, during player discussion. Howie is back at GM with Executive VP/GM titles since 2019. I'm baffled too about the Joe Douglas narrative.

The Eagles had not had a GM until Howie gained the title in 2019. Before that…

Joe Douglas was Vice President of Player Personnel.

Since 2015, Howie has been Executive Vice President of Player Personnel.

Effectively, Howie was the GM and Joe was the assistant GM. Joe left Philly for NYJ so he could get a job that had power, which he didn’t have in Philly. Joe was basically our Will Mcclay; he makes some draft recommendations, and answers trade calls if Howie was on the toilet.

Fully agree.....I don't know how the Douglas narrative came about. No problem grabbing it before it became a runaway train.

Howie Roseman was the acting GM even if no one held the official title, not Douglas. Douglas was VP of player personnel. But Roseman spoke highly of Douglas, and from what I understand, helped him get the Jets position.

Edit: I just saw that one of our resident Eagle visitors posted this already.

How about they hire a good HC and let that guy pick his assistants.

I would love to have young, hungry, innovative coaches on both sides of the ball Dallas; however, Jerry loves..:no…needs to be the face of the Cowboys and would never allow a coach to supplant him in that regard.

We have also read that Jerry does not value the coaching position; I also think that Jerry overestimates the talent level on the team to the extent he thinks that any coach can come in and win with this roster.

I believe that Jerry will likely promote from within as I don’t see any candidates that would mesh well with him. Dallas is a circus and distractions from football abound; so it stands to reason Jerry would look up someone used to this dysfunction.

With limited space under the cap coupled and Jerry giving away draft picks for fringe players; this team will have difficulty improving the roster. A competent GM is always evaluating talent, jettisoning old talent or those with bloated contracts, while bringing in new talent. Sadly, Jerry is anything but competent. So any new HC will be challenged to improve the team.

Great job going “all in” Jerry!

Yes! Guaranteed Super Bowl right here!

Pseudo-GM: Joe Douglas
HC: Doug Pederson (soon to be available)
QB: Nick Foles (beg him to come out of retirement to solve another major problem)

Awhile back someone suggested Brian DaBoll as OC after he gets canned . Now Saleh & Douglas . Holy smokes Dallas does not need the scraps from the Meadowlands.

I would either promote Harris to DC or bring in Saleh for DC even if a guy like Vrabel was hired as HC. But we need someone to fix this offense in the worst way. We need someone to put the declining Duck in a position to be successful.
