Garrett appears to not trust our running game in this spot. So...
A) Maybe....OL has proven they are not good run blockers in these tight spots. We have seen this to be true. Maye replace a TE with a backup OL?
B) Maybe.... We do not have a true power back with a nose for the goal line. Barber was hurt last year so we dont know.....
C) Maybe.... Garrett is an awful OC. Or just a homer to pass to big WR's on this spot.
D) Maybe.... We need a power back. And not a free agent. JAG. Just a guy who is big and athletic enough to cross the stripe.

Lets explore option D- Take a big dude on the squad to play RB in Goaline. Is it just simple Physics?

It has been done before by other very successful teams. What about:

-Jason Williams?
-Martellus?
-Butler?
-Ratliff?
-Hatcher?
-Buehler?(not if hes the kicker)

I did not deserve this thread. I have done nothing wrong to deserve this thread.

Marion is money he'll get it in.

We hope. Last year he could not. I hope he is still the Barbarian. But if you lose weight you are not as powerful. Its simple Physics........

Wade said that they were practicing their passing game close to the goal line in the last game. Yea, red zone scoring was a problem last year, but the staff is more than aware of this and working on it.

We've got the personnell. We've got good enough coaching. It's way too early to panic, or even to get this analytical, after preseason game 1 of 5. Relax, it'll be OK.

I think it had more to do with them taking him out more than him being ineffective. I remember them trying to use the razorback formation with tashard at the endzone and it never worked. All 7 of Marion Barber td's were inside the six yard line. Only game I can remember that he had trouble was the San Diego game.

I think we should have Martellus jump on Free's shoulders (can you imagine the mass and the momentum; p=mv) and basically piggy back that pigskin on in...SuperBowl.

In physics: Momentum= Mass x Velocity

If the loss of weight increases his speed and quickness, it will produce more power at the line of scrimmage, not less.

Besides, you should see some of the behemoths where I work. Losing a hundred pounds would make them stronger, not weaker.............:flex:

Wade said they were working on the passing game in the RZ so I'll give them somewhat of a pass on the last preseason game.

But scoring in the RZ is THE PROBLEM with this team.

So you are a fan of option C? or you think he was so banged up he was not the right man for the job?

:hammer:

Exactly. Why work on passing when you should be running the football?

If you have the biggest and best OL then why pass?

OK smart guy you got me but from 2 yards out Ill take mass. Not enough room 2 get speed up to maximize velocity.

MB played hoops. I think he is the guy for the job to jump over the pile.

If they're aware of the problem and are working on it, I trust it will be remedied. The coaches are too smart and the players are too good to simply repeat the problems from last year.

What exactly was the problem, I have no idea. You'd have to review a lot of film to make that determination.

I guess option c. Like I said before Barber is Money. I feel that they need to utilize his strengths which is the redzone and being the closer. They should use Felix and Tashard for the other running plays.

Uh no, not necessarily.

momentum(p) = mass(m)*velocity(v)
-now you are suggesting that by losing weight v will increase, however you have not taken into consideration that by losing weight his mass decreases, its all about the proportional change.

You also have to consider the power with which he will be reaching the line (as you mention)

power = work/time
work = force/distance
force = mass*acceleration
acceleration = dV/dt

So considering that distance is kept constant for whatever x position on the field, we first find that a decrease in mass with a related increase in acceleration (due to an increased velocity over time period x) results in a stable force upon arrival at said goal line. Therefor because d is the same and force is thus the same the work done will be basically the same. Assuming this we note that time in contact with said goal line will change negligibly due to any change in velocity or mass and can thus conclude that power will be stable if you lose mass in order to gain velocity.

What we must do is increase mass or increase velocity with out a decrease in the other.

That is why my idea of putting Bennett on Free's shoulder is the best. You have substantial increased mass, Free because he is a haus and Bennett's weight is simply an after thought will pay no significant deficit in velocity for the increased mass and boom....super bowl.

touche

I hope he is the guy that can score TD's bc that is why he has all of Jerry's cabbage.

Dude.

Didn't you watch the Cowboys' only preseason game last week in which the starters had all of one offensive possession and didn't score a TD in the red zone?

Doomed, I tell ya!

LOL. But you are following me. The guys I mentioned are huge dudes. Why not give them the rock?
