Goat of the Game: Ken Hamlin

Witten put in a gutsy effort tonight. He was our only warrior for 4 quarters though.

Was he hurt the whole game?

Henry got abused by a man with one leg
James looked completely lost all game and got owned on both long runs
Hamlin is scared to tackle anyone and cant simply fall on the ball
Thomas looked very old and slow tonight
Ellis needs to stay onsides


We forced like 4-5 fumbles, but were only able to recover 1. Twice they scored TDs after we failed to recover the fumble.

I think improving team speed shoots right back up to #1 on my agenda

The way he tackles makes it clear why he's a FS and not a SS. I've honestly got to wonder if those two long TD runs occur if Roy Williams is in there. I know people hate him but he's a much better run support saftey than Hamlin is.

This also makes me very worried about moving Henry to FS (which I've wanted them to do cause he sucks at corner) cause that permanetly puts Hamlin at SS.

FS Ken Hamlin, who missed a tackle on McGahee's TD, was willing to accept blame.

"I'm shouldering all the blame," Hamlin said. "I don't mind it. I feel like I had opportunities to make plays to give us another opportunity to go out there and play, and I didn't live up to that. I'm definitely disappointed in myself, disappointed in my play, and I'll be hard on myself about this game."

It's truly "admirable" for Hamlin to say that he doesn't mind taking the blame after tonight's loss. [/sarcasm]

Well, I'm certainly not the first person to say this (and God knows that I most assuredly won't be the last) but damn if this defense doesn't miss having ol' Boomer Sooner Roy Williams out there. Granted he's made some huge mistakes when it comes to covering receivers but I sure would have liked our chances a whole lot more with him out there as our last line of defense during the Raven's last two offensive drives than Ken "Swing and a Miss" Hamlin.

Agreed, Roy cant cover for $%^& but at least he would not get raped like hamlin did against the run.
