I just watched the 30 minute highlights of Super Bowls 27 and 28 and I sure miss the days when we dominated opponents and had such a drive to win. The 90's were extra special to me as a Dallas fan, and also because I am a Kentucky Wildcat and Atlanta Braves fan. Those were great years. A sports fan couldn't ask for more than the titles I got to experience in the 90's. Hopefully I'll get to experience it again, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah. You've gotta love the NFLN. :D It really made me think back and reminisce the days of old when Jimmy Johnson ran a pretty tight ship. those sounds bites of Alvin Harper saying "I'm open. I can get past em. It doesn't matter who they put out there..." and then coming through with the big 30+ yard catch to the 1 yard line brought a sparkle to my eye. Then Jimmy going for it on that crucial 4th & 1 rewarded by Emmitt's 1 yard TD... Man.. Jimmy had some nads and the team adopted that style of play. I also was glued to the screen a short while ago my friend.

I missed that on NFLN and I miss those days too. Just this morning, I was thinking about Ken Norton's goal line play in Super Bowl 27. Kinda sad when all we have are past memories, huh?:

Yea, I've got that DVD set as well (10 Greatest Games), but I just can't help myself. Whenever those Super Bowl highlights come on, I just have to watch them again, and again, and again.....well, you get the picture.

Its getting too painful to watch my collection of 90s games. Its been so long, and the franchise seems to have a hell of a karma debt to pay over the success in the 90s. Its either that or Jerry Jones is cursed, and no matter what he does the team just can't get over that playoff win slump.

What we have today is emabarrassing. A head coach who is pathetic, a QB who is nothing more than a "tease", a known team cancer at WR, a whiner at LB (care to guess whoI'm referring to? LOL), a thug at CB (oh wait we finally cut that idiot), a backup QB who sucks and is older than dirt, a OL who gets an illegal procedure violation every 7th play, etc. etc. etc.

This team has no heart and over rated talent. Fact. I wish I was wrong, but I'm not.

BTW, I look forward to joining the discussions around these parts.

I don't think it's karma or a curse. It's Jerry.

He just has no clue how to build a team. He refused to hire a quality HC 4 of the last 5 times. He micromanages and undermines the HC and doesn't believe in team chemistry. And for almost a decade, prior to Bill's arrival, we had one of the worst personnel depts in the league.

Thank God Jimmy Johnson was his roommate in college because if he wasn't, we wouldn't have those 3 Lomardis we got in the 90s. It's kinda scary when you look at it that way, though. Will Jerry ever figure it out? I wish BP had had more success while he was here because Jerry may now be afraid to relinquish that kind of power again.

Ain't that the truth. Could you imagine if Jerry had hire Switzer or Holtz in '89 instead?

Thank God it went down the way it did before Jerry took over and ruined the one of the greatest teams ever built. It's staggering that it's over a dozen years later and he's still doing much of his same damage.

Those were the greatest of times....

I'm not sure what happened but the mighty have fallen.

So much talent today...

So little ability to organize that talent into a dominant machine...

Yep, those were the days. I was talking with my grandson who is 23 yrs of age and as I talked about the great teams he reminded me that he doesn't remember when Dallas won a playoff game because he never became a real fan until he was about 10. It pains me that my grandchildren never had the joy of witnessing the Cowboys we knew back then and they will never have the memories that all of us cherish so much. Thanks Jerry.

I think about the 90s all the time, I didn't get to witness the great Landry/Staubach years, but I feel lucky enough to have been able to see the 90s.

Those days ain't coming back and it's about time that this team does something to help us make the transition to the present days.
