Last year it was said that all we had was two #2 WR's, now this year it appears we have TWO #1 receivers. Not to mention Witten across the middle and JJ/MBIII out of the flats. Pick your poison buddy, pick your poison.

Well said and that's exactly why we'll hammer Philly tomorrow. They can't cover us in the secondary. I also don't see their WR's getting away from our corners...

Owens elevates the threat of the other recievers, nothing against Glenn ,but it is much easier to work with two major talents (not to mention out TE's).

If I was Philly's secondary I'd be worried :disseags:

At this point Glenns our #1, el dorado is the decoy. A freaking 25 million dollar decoy.

TG could be getting that money, so either way its not being wasted and it works out

its not like TO is playing poorly either

I'll take a decoy who only has one less catch and 43 fewer yards than the #1.

I think people like to complain about TO, but he changes this offense completely.

Agree.
The reason we have 2 #1 wr's is that we now have 2 wr's that you can not cover with one man anymore.
With Keyshawn you could cover Glenn with two guys with one guy devoted to deep help.
With TO on the team you can't do that anymore.
TO can hurt you just as much as Glenn can, but right now teams are choosing to roll coverage to TO instead of Glenn.
And to Glenn's credit he is making them pay.
When we signed TO people were already anticipating TO opening up things for the rest of the offense and they were right.
Reminds me when we had Emmitt,Michael,Novacek and Harper with Aikman throwing to them.
You couldn't stop all of them so you had to choose and disquise your defense.

Ok, so we can take TO out of this offense and Glenn is still a #1 all by himself?

I think not.

Not even close.

We have a #1 and a good #2 behind him.

Take TO out of the lineup, they move over their best CB and possibly a saftey, and Glenn is lucky to make it 5 yards past line of scrimmage if they get physical. A #1 takes that double team, they take that physical, and they go about their day as if it's no such kind of roadbloack whatsoever. There's no contemplation, no threads needed to be started, it just is what it is and everybody knows it. Irvin did that, Rice did that, Owens did that, and in 2 orginazations in 2 decades they are the only 3 to do that.

I love Terry and what he's brought to this team, but reality is reality and a 30+ year old receiver just doesn't magically become #1 material. There's usually a significiant reason for that happening if it does. Like; he fell in radiation and became a superhero overnight; he was probed by aliens and given outerworld powers; God deemed him Samson of the new millenium and called him she; or more likely, a player like TO comes to Dallas...

Robin is crap without Batman, end of story. Batgirl could kick Robin's butt.

Very goo post. Sensible.

I just look at it like this...

Last year we had two #2's. Key and Glenn
This year we have a #1 and #1a. TO's presence elevates Glenn above #2. Is Glenn a TRUE #1 = NO.

In essence we have two GREAT THREATS.

Glitz, while I agree Glenn is no Irvin,Rice or Owens(obviously they are few and far between) he is certainly a #1 reciever that when complemented by a capable two is effective even if he is not a superstar. The whole point of a #1 is to demand double coverage, he is showing he is capable of hurting you if you don't provide coverage help..:iggles:

Hurd would take the pressure and thedouble ream. Glenns the man.

Maybe not, Just kidding. Dont freak out. I still dislike el dorado, but I recognize his contribution to the team. He still aint a team player, and short of his shaless self promotions, I will admit hes behaved himself SO FAR. Its far from over and I aint feeling good abouthim yet, but I will give it to him football wise, he aint hurt the team yet. Begrudgingly!

Dont confure earned respect with likeing. I aint about to change that song till I start seeing off the field compassion for others, concern for others.

I'm not so sure man. Did you see Teen Titans? Robin kicks butt.

Other than your glaring hatred for Robin, I agree. Glenn is playing a lot better because TO is taking double teams, and Glenn can take the single.
