What would you have predicted our record would be in those 13 games? I would think losses @gb, panthers, pats, @ buffalo, @wash, @nyg. Wins would be @tb, @no, jets, wash, eagles, atl. Fifty-fifty game would be seattle. Before the season I just assume that we're going to split in the division, winning at home a d losing on the road but since we beat the Eagles in philly, I gave us a win in Dallas. This result puts us at around 9-7 or 10-6 in playoff contention. Overall this team is more talented than last years so losing Romo should hurt but going 1-10 is totally unacceptable.

I would've expected them to be about this bad because I knew Brandon Weeden couldn't play. What I did not expect is for them to actually be in these games and lose them because the coaching sucks.

If they are surprising you by staying in games that you'd think they'd lose does that really mean the coaching sucks? I'm not saying it really has or hasn't, but that seems a little contradictory to me is all

I would have expected us to be bad but with a few more wins & maybe end up 3rd or something in the division, considering none of us could foresee our division being THIS Bad all season.

.500, but then again, I wouldn't have anticipated that they would compound an already horrible back-up quarterback situation by trading for Matt Cassel.

I think all of us would have expected a fair share of loses, but nobody expected to go 1-10 without Romo

I seriously don't know how you keep a coaching staff after that if you are actually serious about winning

Gosselin hit the nail on the head when he said this week that Garrett and company bring nothing to the table

Weeden looked awful against the Cards last year. That should have been our key. JJ was just looking at Weeden's $100K salary and looking to save some dime.

He thought our vaunted OL would save the day.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want JJ running my organization.

QB (no Romo), OL play, WR, RB, Special teams, DB's are not as talented as last years in my opinion.

But Weedo claimed he didn't "stink it up" in Dallas.

I would've expected a 5-8 record during that stretch but hoping for 1 or 2 games better.

Never thought it would be this bad, even after I made thread after thread in the offseason asking why we weren't upgrading the backup qb position. Never thought the coaching staff would be this incompetent on top of that.

Probably about what we are now. I had them at 10-6 with romo all season.

Maybe 6-10 if you had asked me before the season without any knowledge of our division opponents.

But if I knew how bad the division would be, I'd probably say 8-8.

As bad as Weeden is.
As much as I know he is bad.

I expected him to win a game or two.

With a healthy Dez and a Romoless Cowboys I would have thought 7-9 at best. If you factor in the Dez loss in week one coupled with Romo going down in Philly I would have thought right about where we are. That stretch without Romo and Dez was rough. Teams just started gearing up to stop the run and the underneath stuff and at that point we were screwed. I don't think it would have mattered who we had in the backfield because it would have been all we had.

Yeah no doubt, I think that's a kind of over looked stat this year. That coupled with not having a playmaking qb is hard to overcome.

Being worst in the league in turnover differental is definately an overlooked stat. Our offense was challenged enough without Romo and a hurt Dez. Add it all together and 4 wins sounds about right.

Assuming we go into the season knowing Romo will miss 13 games, are we to also assume Weedon plays all 13 games that Romo missed? That would made a difference on my prediction. If you amend the scenario to say Romo misses 13 games and Weedon misses 13 games I could only predict having to resort to a 3rd and 4th option at QB would end in a chaotic result much like what we have today. While it's still unacceptable, knowing the whole truth in the matter makes it more understandable in how we got here.
