Thought this would be an interesting topic, seeing how we're going into a match-up of two guys who should be in just about everyone's top-five. Personally:
1. Calvin Johnson.
2. A.J. Green.
3. Brandon Marshall.
4. Larry Fitzgerald.
5. Dez Bryant.
5b. Steve Smith.

Depends how you look at this -- if you are talking about a hypothetical "if you could have 5 WRs on your team" scenario, then I'd want a dedicated slot WR. If Cobb wasn't injured I might go with him due to his versatility but I have no problem going with Welker .

Steve Smith is at the end of the line.

Are we talking about fantasy football here or real life football.

Well in real life on absolute ability taking QB play into account, I would have to say:

1. Calvin - the best period.
2. Green - great ability, but a noodle armed QB limits him
3. Fitz - runs the complete route tree and still up here, but of course the team is horrible on the OL and mediocre QB
5. Julio - athletic beast who has true deep speed
5. Dez - athletic beast who doesn't run the whole route tree yet and has the best QB on this list

Surprised you have Larry in your top 5, IMO he's greatly over rated these days. Other then Larry, I think your list is pretty much spot on, though I'd swap Steve Smith out for Andre Johnson.

It's pretty tough to rank the WRs right now.

Calvin, first obviously.

But then you've got guys like Marshall, Fitzgerald, and Johnson who have the proven track record, can still perform, but were never super dominant like a Moss, Rice, or Owens type WR and are only getting older.

And then you've got the younger guys like Green, Bryant, Julio and Thomas who are probably more talented but don't quite have the resume just yet.

And where does Victor Cruz fit in? No one ever mentions him outside of Giants fans, but the guy just keeps producing.

Green and Dez are extremely close, hard to judge because of the huge difference in QB
