Gallagher's Steak House @ New York, New York is a must. You're with the wife, so have dinner at the Eiffel Tower @ The Paris as well. It rotates around and there's a great view of The Bellagio's water show at night.

Don't forget to take her to The Venetian for an afternoon of shopping and lunch.

Avoid "downtown" Vegas and stay on the strip. Downtown is overrated. All you'll get is fried twinkies and dollar Margaritas.

The MGM Grand is pretty cool. The poker games there are the best, and they got the live tigers you can check out real close. Take the underground tram that connects a dozen hotel/casino's whenever possible. Vegas will wear you out with the walking from joint to joint.

Finally, if your going now, it's gonna' be real hot. It's the desert out there. I go every year the first week of March for the NASCAR race, and take my wife every November for the shows. Both times are perfect temperature. I would NEVER go to Vegas anytime between May and September, so good luck. It's gonna' be REALLY hot. "Dry" hot or not, it's still HOT! Luckily, everything that happens in Vegas happens INDOORS. So stay indoors.

Shows? Go to www.lasvegas.com, because it varies from week to week, month to month. Check our Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the races too, it's a ton of fun. Rita Rudner is a lock at NY/NY. Elton John shows up from time to time, as does Dennis Miller. Every show is pretty cool though, so get yourself to at least a couple.

Other than that, don't forget that Vegas lives off of the drunk gambler. If you gamble, you drink for free.........................for a reason! They'll roll out the red carpet for you as long as you're losing your money. Avoid that trap. If you gamble, gamble sober. Don't drink. Every casino has either a Krispy Kreme or a Starbucks. Drink THAT!!

Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas..............unless you get the Clap or Herpes......................That, you have to deal with when you come home...............................................

Thanks for the info. Apparently , we're staying at Planet Hollywood, which is near the Bellagio. I have been to Vegas before, but not for a few years. I mentioned the heat to my wife, but she been freezing her tush off all winter, so she wants some heat. The underground tram looks like a great idea. If the slots come through, I might share with everyone here. ;)
