This has got to be the worse goldminers ever . All of them are still trying to get their equipmemt ready at the midpoint of the season . Didn't they know that the season was approaching ? Was it too much to prepare for ? These guys should go broke . They will be lucky to mine 2 weeks .

No kidding, this show is starting to lose me, I'm finding myself more aggravated by the episode for their terrible planning, continual stupidity and lack of any actual processing for gold and as well as not finding hardly any, get on with it already!

gee.

the writers would never build for suspense and a set # of shows to tell the whole story, huh?

I'm just want to see somebody find some gold . Looks like they could have found some real miners and made a show about them .

i still hold to the early setup.

the hoffmans will work with the snoz's to beat dakota.

hoof and i talked about it and so far what he said would happen is right, but i'm stickin to my idea in the end.

but for tonight, you really went skipping off into the flowers when you're the only one who can get a job done needed next?

that was just...strange.

Reminds me of Dave Attell.

He says women have all the power because "women have all the vaginas".

I'm getting a little annoyed with relatively nothing happening in each episode.

Honestly, the first episode had as much action as the entire rest of the season so far.

Last night was an hour dedicated to watching a guy chase tail and build a filter, watching Fred start his loader and watching the kid build a road that he hasn't finished.

well the thig that gets me there are supposedly broke

hmmmmmmm wonder how much money they are getting paid by discovery channel

and one of you stated it - I mean get your stuff together - get there on time with working machincery - whats this I gonna play around for 4 or 5 weeks

duh

If you go to the discovery message board (yeah, I didn't know there was one either), they is some posters who claim to know the Hoffman's and they have money. This whole broke bit with them is for TV. At least that is what some on there are claiming.

Now the other guys, they might be broke, but not the Hoffman's.

I would agree though, it is a good watch on TV - but it's always "the gold is right there, just gotta dig that dirt and get it". Rinse and Repeat in the next episode.

you'd think with 3 "shows" inside a show they could come up with something a little more original. but yea, the constant WITH ONE THIRD OF THE MINING SEASON GONE....

and only the kid has found gold. this better pick up soon or i may have to actually watch ariel learn to fly in alaska.

I'm nearly convinced that none of the camps find anything.

Maybe a little bit but with how little they put into each episode, I think there's really only two scenarios that play out.

1. All the camps get up and running and the produces have been wanting to stretch out the season a bit so they basically scrape the bottom of the barrel to make enough shows until gold starts coming in.

2. Nobody finds really anything and this is all they have to work with. It's sad, they could have combined the last two shows and made a good episode but they keep showing a bunch of nothing. I don't know how many times I have have to hear the same guy on the Hoffman's talk about how he wants the gold now and he has "gold fever".

Just put a show together for ****s sake.

Kinda like Troy on Swamp People. The guy is a millionaire who runs a crawfish processing, packaging, and shipping company. The "house" they show him at on occasion is his lake house or some kind of old family house that he's dressed up over the years.

I'm not sure the Hoffmans were ever portrayed as broke. They do own an airport and did raise a quarter of a million bucks to do this little mining operation.

I do believe they feel pressure to get some return on their investment and to not have a bunch of guys not make a dime working for them.

In season one, its was played off as "we lose our homes if we don't find gold". If was the last shot they had.

GOLD!!!!

They have GOLD!!!!

Maybe, I guess.

How directionless have the Hoffman's been? They basically just do nothing for months on end and finally someone calls BS on the dude running the show and they finally get into gear?

I'm dead convinced I could do better than these fools.

Looks like Fred is gonna get something as well. He was running a good amount but somehow didn't account for tons of rocks building up in a single spot.

Seriously, how incompetent can any group of people be?

Anyone irritated by Parker's mom threatening to shut him down? Of all the crap kids can get into these days, having your 17 year old kid working too hard doesn't seem like a reasonable concern

Parker seems to be a really good kid . This has to be another angle to hype up the drama .

I caught that last night too. Had he been a bit older and wiser he could have popped off with the fact that gold is traded on the world markets and working your *** off 16 hours a day when it's $1619 a ounce (just checked) means you put in whatever hours you can before the price declines.

He sure could've immediately agreed with her, packed up, and moved back home to flip burgers for minimum. I'm guessing though that Dad got involved and mentioned that Parker might, just might, be making his entire college tuition on his own accord.

I'm wondering why multiple operations get shut down in the next episode. Both Richard Head Dakota Fred and Parker say they get shut down. Fred, well, he deserves it.

The kid's young. I get the impression he was playing up "cool" for the cameras and his mom didn't want any part of that.

She's a mom and he needs to learn the art of maternal diplomacy.

I usually catch the show on demand after the fact but it took forever to get it up.

Good to see them catching gold.

Can't believe the Hoffmans were shooting for 100 ounces and now they might pull in 300+

That's crazy.

And again, I've never seen so many things go wrong. Brokem equipment every episode.

That's the part that gets me.

Then again, how surprising is it really when everything they're using is 20+ years old it seems like?
