Wow. That's scary to think of what could have happened

Heard reports but never thought I'd see it in a developed country.

Why would it matter if it was in a developed country? Eagle has to eat. I don't imagine he cares which country he is living in.

Is it fake? Seems some think so. And by some, I mean people on the internet.

Wow! If he's Native American Indian, then that's a pretty powerful totem.

Someone send in that Jameson scotch guy to keep an eye on the park and get that eagle.

It is Jameson Irish Whiskey. It is not Scotch.

Irish whiskey...Scotch...who cares as it is not the RUM.

:D

What are the rules, can one shoot a Golden or Bald eagle trying to kill a child?

I would and then rely on the jury.

We're on the Internetz. Not all poster (or mods) comments make sense. :laugh2:

Since it is the Christmas season ,I will overlook that remark

They steal kid goats all the time, so I don't doubt they could handle the weight and size of a child. I do doubt they would dive into a public park with all the other people around though. Kitty cats and squirrels are too easy to catch and much less risk. I've got a pair of great horned owls that roost in my pecan tree every couple of weeks. They are both monsters and I worry about them getting my cats. You can hear the squirrels losing their minds for blocks around when they're up there.

While "faking things" has become alot easier with tech. I doubt that is fake.

Too many things going on.

1. The shadows (kid and eagle)
2. The person watching eagles soar by and then reacting to the attempted abduction
3. The kid falling to ground

Alot of work involved there. I have done some video work and that would take a lot of time.

There is no doubt they would do it in a park too. I remember fishing in a stream on a golf course at Benbrook lake (behind the spillway) and an enormous owl (7+ foot wing span) swooped down out of a tree right next to me and snatched my bobber out of the water!

I mean he was less than 10 feet from me. (I could feel the whoosh of air from his wings) As I backed up, he picked it up and started to fly away. The string went taut and I yanked it out of his claws and he flew back up to his perch in the tree.

There are hawks that hang out on top of the light poles along one of the major highways in Austin. They swoop down over cars to get to their prey. Just the other day a hawk caught mockingbird in mid-flight right in front of my car as I was driving down the access road. I had to slow down to avoid hitting them.

I've got a small dog and I have to be carefull when I take him in eagle territory they have tried to get him a couple of times

also remember a hawk snatching a chicken on a farm I had once

Yeah, yeah, the old "Big one that got away story". :laugh1:
