I remember cold days out in the field in Korea when you could trade a dehydrated pork patty MRE for a bowl of Ramen noodles and cheese. Something so simple tasted so good after a guard shift.

That sounds rough. Are you talking about the Korean War? Btw, thank you for your service to your country.

One of the best players I ever coached, told me he ate Ramen noodles several times a week after his father lost his job because of an addiction problem. He was an all state player, but turned down a football scholarship ( on my advice) and accepted an academic scholarship. I am proud to say, 10 years later, he is now a doctor and attending Harvard studying orthopedic surgery. So, don't quit eating them, apparently they make you very smart.

Everything in moderation. It's fine as long as you don't overdo it.

Buy a few packs of any flavored Ramen noodles, you will not use the seasoning. Next, buy a pork loin and your favorite Asian sauce like teriyaki, soy, szechuan.......whatever.

Take a small portion of the pork and slice it up thinly or julienne style. Saute the pork, add in an egg then some sauce. When done, pour in the cooked noodles and BAM........gourmet dinner is served :D

You can get about 5 meals all for around $12

Dang it, ramen noodles are cheap and easy to prepare, but I was just reading up on the net about how crappy they are for your health. Turns out if you eat ramen every day you might as well eat McDonalds every day. Crap. It's so easy just to pour hot water into a cup of ramen and have an instant and pretty good meal. gonna have to find another way to eat on the cheap.

Microwave a potato.

Make some rice.
