Good breakdown of Parsons film

Nice find, OP. I like how it's not just a bunch of home run splash plays. It's a very real and honest evaluation. Video fails to mention that he's only played linebacker for two years (played DE in high school) so he's still really raw as far as knowing the nuances of the position. Any chance he's still around though after his workout yesterday? I know Detroit (7)has met with him

I like Parsons a pretty good bit. He’s growing on me and he is a tremendous athlete who played football pretty well too.

I’d rather have Pitts or Surtain but if they’re gone, I’d be fine with Parsons. He could be a real weapon.

Casserly on NFL network said he thinks he’s not quite as good as Devin White but better than Devin Bush. IMO he’s the best defensive player in the draft.

He just seems like an ideal modern NFL defender because he's able to create havoc and generate TFLs and turnovers. Elite offenses can't be stopped, so just load your defense with guys who can 'break serve' (like tennis) 2 or 3 times a game. And yeah, the Sean Lee mentor idea (Penn State guy) makes too much sense.

Over pursues, lack of gap integrity sounds like our current linebackers. We know he is very inexperienced in coverage. Right now he probably is a two down player and we would use him as our strong-side linebacker. In my opinion, very risky as you are drafting him for upside potential. We have seen an highly athletic player in Bruce Carter struggle. Just being athletic, doesn't mean he becomes a great football player. Add his immaturity concerns, I think he falls outside the top 10.

Not just Bruce Carter, but also Robert Jones who did okay but neither showed the kind of instincts you want with a high pick.

Ive been on the parsons bandwagon along with surtain. If either one we end up with we’re fortunate. I’m hoping with trades today one of them falls

Pretty good video, and I think the weaknesses are fair. They also aren't huge concerns as gap integrity and over agression is likely just the kid trying to do too much and make every play. I think NFL coaches can reel that in and correct it.

The good is off the charts good. The fact that he was the highest graded LBr since Kuechly as a Sophomore still learning the nuances of the position is insane. He's still perfecting his craft and the dude had the highest graded run D the last year he played. Obviously the football IQ and instincts are there he just needs to continue to progress.

If the character stuff checks out I'm 100% in on taking him at 10.

Carter struggled because he lacks instincts. Parsons does not. Whale of a difference.

Why would you infer that all he has is athleticism?

We just haven't seen Parsons much in coverage, it's a projection at this point. To take an off the ball linebacker at 10, he has to be a 3 down player. Add in immaturity concerns, very risky pick.

HE does need more experience in coverage but his instincts, IQ and all world athleticism lead me to believe he'll be perfectly fine in coverage. He's nothing like our current LBr corp and not even close to Carter.

He's a LBr, we just need him to clog passing lanes in zone and keep up with RB's. He's not going to be covering WRs / TEs.

The video makes me nervous but I think he’s right put Micah at 43 WLB and blitz him every play....he’ll probably be a better Dware type player then a Sean Lee MLB. Makes me think he’s better in a 34 team
