Good but not famous steakhouses/BBQ joints around Houston and San Antonio

I cook the thicker ones on a gas grill. Set it on the highest temp put steaks on for 3 minutes on each side. Turn off middle burners and leave steaks in the middle for about4 more minutes on each side. Tender and juicy with a little pink. Doing as i post this.

That is what I do for thick ones as well. I know the quality of the steak has the most to do with it but I have tried them all, only a few come out desirable......the rest are just not tender(the eye, not the outer part) :(

This applies to ribeyes only BTW :D

Nothing! ABQJr. went with me and while we had different seats (We bought our tickets before ABQJr. confirmed he could go), it was so much fun. You don't get a lot of chances in life to make memories with your children that will last a lifetime. You gotta recognize those opportunities and take advantage of them.

Sounds like you already know this.
Awesome post ABQ. You are exactly right about memories. I hope when my kid is watching future Superbowls after I die, he will remember our times fondly.

Oh. Sory BDF5. For sure. Our schedule in Houston and Dallas is tight but we will have plenty of free time in San Antonio and we will hit all the places suggested here for San Antonio. :)

Paesanos on the riverwalk is great Italian seafood. I always get the house shrimp Paesanos, lobster bisque and Caesar salad.......can't be beat if you need a break from the meat sweats

There is always lunches my friend. :) Our hotel is right on Riverwalk. We should be able to find the place easily. But let's see if we will be in the mood for Italian while in San Antonio.

I hear ya, you want BBQ or probably Tex-Mex but it is a good place and not expensive. The Gulf does offer some excellent seafood you can't get in NY, particularly the shrimp and blue crab(not in season now). Red snapper is good too.....try it blackened

When I go to NY, I try to eat only local favorites as well. That means a lot of time in little Italy :)

Anybody else like Rudy's just outside San Antonio? Remember going there a couple of times when my wife's family lived there and loving it.

Killen's BBQ Houston. You're welcome.

It's a chain now. Good stuff.

in SA, checkout the Granary cue & brew and newly opened 2m smokehouse for bbq.

if you happen to be here on a Friday, hit Perry's Steakhouse for lunch and get their famous pork chop. it's regularly like 40 dollars, but on Friday's they open for lunch and sell it for 13.99
