lol, I just wanted to throw a few things out there and I had to cut back on a lot of info in the process. This guy talks out both sides of his mouth. He was saying just before the Miami game that he watched them in preseason and that the front 7 has serious issues stopping the run. This turned out to be true. Now in this thread he says that the miami front 7 is dominant against the run. You can't have it both ways, unless you are on an opponents board with an agenda.

Well, I think if we can shadow Westbrook and stop the deep pass, we can take the game. I can see us completely destroying them with the run as they've shown no signs of shoring that part of the defense up and use some play-action off of that and taking our shots deep. I think we can do good things against their D, but Westbrook and their ability to get deep can take over a game. If the Eagles get ahead early, we might as well just call it a day because we'll get away from the running game which is easily our greatest strength. If we can keep it close or even lead, I think we can pound the ball down their throats and come out with a W.

That might be true. Who honestly knows at this point? My worst 5 teams are (in no particular order) Cleveland, Oakland, Arizona, NYG and Buffalo. So it looks like we both believe that the other team beat up on a crappy opponent.

First off, Marion Barber isn't that great. Reserve that kinda optimism for players like LT, Frank Gore, LJ and Brian Westbrook. Barber can disappear as often as he can dominant and it's more often than not that Miami's front seven dominants the run. I don't think they need 8 in the box to stop the run.

We have a good running combination with JJ and Barber. I don't recall Miami dominating Washington week 1 versus the run. Flozell Adams should be able to bury Taylor in the running game.

I have no idea why. Flo looked average and is a holding penalty in waiting. I think he's a shell of his former self and Taylor will eat his lunch. You didn't do all that great in the run against a team that everyone knew was going to be horrid against the run. I think Miami will give you the underneath stuff and accept 3-5 gains on the run, so you'll get yards, but you'll have to settle for FGs as they tighten up toward the endzone.

Flo is a shell of his former self? Where are you getting this from? He's a solid left tackle a little better run blocker than pass blocker. And he's two years removed from ACL surgery. i.e. fully recoverd. Taylor's speed will be a challenge for Flo. Conversely Flo's nearly 100 pound size advantage will impact the running game. If you watched the game Sunday night, you saw what happens when the other team plays deep safeties and tries to double T.O.

We weren't great in the running game.? Against the Giants we rushed 30 times for 147 yards, a 4.7 average. That's not great? Not too shabby at all. Besides, when your QB is averaging in the teens in yards/attempt, you really don't need to run that much.

Firehawk, why don't you man up and make a prediction about the game. Hostile made his, and you seem to have a different take. Afterwards, we'll see who was right.

I had a bad feeling in my gut before the Giants game but it turned out to be the week-old chicken in my nachos. I feel better about Miami but I think it will be closer than I'd prefer if the defense plays the way they did last week.

I was at that game... unbelievably cold with those 30 mph winds blowing through the tunnels...

Beer was cold though... and the lines at the snack stands were non existent...

This is the game I fear the o-line regressing mightily. If you want to prove that things have changed, play two solid games in a row.

I usually dread playing the Dolphins. Strange things happen when we do.

Over the years other than the victory in Super Bowl VI, I have not enjoyed the games against the Dolphins. I respected Shula, and I feared him a bit too. We're 3-7 against them over the years.

But this week I feel really confident even though it's the Dolphins. There are a few reasons why.

1. We're not playing them on Thanksgiving. We've done that 4 times and lost 3 of them. No Leon!!!

2. Jason Garrett should know the offensive strengths of the Dolphins with the possible exceptions of Trent Green and Tedd Ginn Jr.

3. Wade Phillips should know the offensive philosophy of Cam Cameron after facing him in practices for the last several years.


Now, can the last 2 things be turned back against us? Sure, but I honestly think the Dolphins are one of the 5 worst teams in the NFL and the Cowboys one of the 5 best offenses in the NFL.

I have a very good feeling about Miami. The Giants have a superb offensive line and after rewatchng the game the LT showed some pretty good feet. he was also getting help on anything longer than a 3 step drop. Spencer began to take advantage of that in the second half but the rest of their line is pretty good as well. Their center is good as are Snee and McKenzie.

Miamis offensive line is not very good. they allow a lot of penetration and for our style of defense that doesnt bode well for them.

We will be able to run at Holliday and Traylor with our interior line and our tackles will destroy thier ends in the run game.

Run the ball work play action over the middle of the field and abuse that oline.

i see this game going 24-10 or the like.

I didn't watch any of the Miami games and I definitely don't recall saying anything like that. You may want to check out exactly who said that as I think you are confused.

One game a season does not make! Did they get pounded by the Skins??? Yep, that they did. But we're pretty good at the run, probably better than last year so I'm not ready to throw out Miami as having a crappy run D. If you guys run all over them than things are looking bad indeed in Miami.

I was just illustrating how your reasoning on why the Cowboys will continue to have trouble with every team they play are a little like a broken record - if it was like a broken record that used feeble generalizations and didn't know much about football; and when pressed on said incorrect opinions the record had to dance and readjust his previously feeble generalization into something nearly as stupid.

That's all I'm trying to say.
