There's really no excuse not to get an edge rusher. I don't care about that BPA theory either. We have enough guys that can play the run and it's not like Gregory wassone run game demon anyway. Sometimes you have to (reach) to improve your team (cough) Frederick (cough)

looking at draft lists, there's like 10 first round DEs. Think we'll be taking one.

I noticed that. He looks like a DT. And a big DT too.

Me thinks that he bulked up to play LDE EXCLUSIVELY because he (and EVERYBODY ELSE) thought that Gregory was gonna play RDE. He DEFINITELY looks north of the 270 they have him listed. He looks bigger then Michael Bennett, and Seattle still lists him @ 274. Tank has gotta be 275 these days. Thus, the team still needs a RDE.

What always amazes me is how relatively upbeat and happy the losing players are. When i lost, last thing I did was stick around on the field and smile.
I remember when Jimmy went berserk on Everson Walls in 89 for helping an opponent player up after a play. There were no smiles from Cowboys players back then if they were losing.

what should determine how much they make?
is it disgusting how much the owners make?

That made me think....as owners who have just as big of vested interest in winning that is competitive based (not just financial incentive) yet we have no issue with the owners back slapping and joking with each other. Should they have the same "they are the enemy" mentality that we expect from players? The same goes for coaches.

Just something that made me go hmmm.

Different era, I know where you are coming from. This is today's NFL, and with social media everyone seems to be buddy buddy with everyone.

I agree, different era, but I disagree that the primary driver is social media. To me FA and the salary cap is the biggest contributor. When players were married to their teams for their entire career, you always saw everyone else as the enemy. With FA and so much player movement, enemies can an often do become teammates. Also, with the growth in salaries, other players on other teams often are helpful in setting payscale for players in the same position groups but on different teams.

I'm with you bud. I was the same way.

But you and I didn't get to cash those five and six figure checks every Tuesday, or whatever day they get paid, either.

Players are friendly with one another because win lose or tie, they are professionals with some level of sportsmanship. Sportsmanship says be a gracious loser and a humble winner.
