I admit, I was once Roy Williams fan. But I finally grew tired of his weaknesses in the passing game. Now it seems we have quite the safety in Gerald Sensabaugh, but there is a lot of hype surrounding our new safety. Yet I argue it is warranted. If preseason is any indication of how a player might play during the regular season, then I offer a youtube as an example of why I think Sensabaugh is going to be a fine player for the Dallas Cowboys. This thread is for the discussion of how Sensabaugh may effect the Cowboys this year. And while I don't think Sensabaugh will be quite the "box player" Roy Williams was, I do think he'll provide the fans with some oohs and ahhs out there on Dallas' new field.

All I keep hearing from jags fans is that Sensa was a solid player...More then we can say for that chump Roy Williams.

Watching Polamalu in the first quarter last night, I had Roy flashbacks, and cried a little inside. That's what he was supposed to be, that's what he was headed toward, and then it all kind of fell apart.

I don't think he worked hard enough on his speed and keeping his wait down, jmo.

your sig still irritates me, the worst call ever to call him for a penalty on that play, just atrocious!!!!!! oh well, not like im resentful for long:laugh1:

The jury is still out with me on this player......I wish him the best, but I need to see more of how he plays in meaningful situations like beginning Sun in Tampa Bay.

Go Cowboys!

Roy never came close to looking that good.

this is football we are talking about... you see hits like that in every game on every level!

the 1 year deal may be more of an indication of what to expect from Gerald!

Roy Williams is not the in-the-box safety Roy Williams once was.

He was constantly late to the point of attack and that is why we now have the horse collar tackle rule.

First off I think Gerald looks to be a nice upgrade over Roy. I'm happy for that but I'm still a Roy fan and i wish him well.

Second...7 or 8 bannings? Seriously? How does someone get banned 7 or 8 times and still get back on the forums?

Man, you stole my thunder! I'm in the process right now of typing up my contribution to the Football 101 series, dealing specifically with the playcalling flexibility Sensebaugh brings to the Cowboys.

And there I was feeling guilty about allegedly stirring the pot about Roy Williams. It almost seems since someone took his spot on the roster, we can't talk about the position (according to one lone poster). But I'm not so naive to think that.

Anyhoo, I agree. I'm really stoked about Sensabaugh. I've been spending part of my day watching video clips of him and I like what I see. The guy can tackle and hit, but I like his coverage abilities also. He gives us a lot of flexibility. I'm looking forward to your input. :)

When I watched the game, I thought he was late and made the play only because the quarterback threw to the inside shoulder instead of the outside one.

It's a nice play to watch because of the hit, but the coverage I am hoping for is the kind that forces the quarterback to throw it away or take a sack.

I think the jury's still out on Sensebaugh.

Couple of big penalties against Sensabaugh (huge actually) so I hope it's out of his system now and will put on a nice show!

He looks promising and might be a nice fit for the year. But I'm a what have you done for me lately kind of guy. He has not done anything of importance yet so IMO the book is very much open and slanted against him if anything.

Man, I love safeties. And that was an atrocious call. I mean, he got fined bookoo for that hit and it was one of the best hits I've ever seen. That goes to show the bias some referees have towards Cowboys players. Needless to say, I long for the day we find another Darren Woodson. Sadly, I don't think that day is coming anytime soon.

But here's to Gerald Sensabaugh.
