If this is way over your head, then so be it. This "tutorial" is for those that want to be self sufficient on finding free pron, MP3's, Apps, etc.
*DISCLAIMER* Kazaa, Morpheus, etc. is much easier to use when finding MP3s, Pron, etc. The method described below is only for those willing to invest a little extra time, and are interested in learning how stuff works.
The greatest tool on the internet for finding free, cool stuff is Google. Period. If you know HOW to search Google, you can find anything you want.
For the time being, keep this slogan in your mind: Its All About Operators. Read the link below for a quick and dirty intro:
http://jn0x00.com/A_Google_Hacking_Primer.243.0.html
What are operators? Operators are search "assistants" that allow you to do more meaningful searches on Google. For example, "one operator allows you to search within a known website. If you want to search for the word security within Microsoft's Website, then type the following command inside the Google searchbox: site:www.microsoft.com security (Type everything in bold)."
Another great operator is the intitle: operator. This will look for a word or group of words in the title of a Webpage. An example would be if you wanted to find folder contents within Webpages. You would type intitle:index.of/admin (Stolen from Toms Hardware)
So lets have a go, shall we?
Copy and paste this to Google: intitle:index of mp3
BOOOOM. Open indexes of MP3's!?!? You betcha. Way too much stuff to surf through? You betcha. So, let's make the search a little more meaningful, say I wanna search for Snoop stuff:
intitle:index of mp3 + *snoop*.mp3
Remember its all about operators. What did I do in the above example? I simply told Google to find open indexes named MP3, that contain files which contain snoop and have the mp3 extension.
Intersting huh? people share all sorts of stuff on the web, and many don't even realize they are. For example, try these searches:
intitle:"index.of.secure"
intitle:"index.of.protected"
intitle:"index.of.private"
intitle:"index.of.hidden"
To avoid complete overload of your senses, I will stop there for now. Let me leave you with this little gem, however:
site:web.utk.edu intitle:index.of-
What does this little search do? It searches the online folders of students at UTK for files they are sharing via the web. And let me tell ya, students share everything, from MP3s to amateur porn. Change the web.utk.edu above to any other university site and see what you can come up with.
One more:
ext:xls xls
Find shared Excel files on the web(interesting private info at your fingertips can often be found). Replace xls with other file extensions and see what comes up.
Nothing in this tutorial is illegal. It's all stuff that is accessable through google. But as with anything, use your better judgement.
Play around with this little primer guide and see what you can find. All kinds of cool stuff out there, if you just know how to ask for it.
Enjoy!
