Goose: New Orleans is going to be good. Drew Brees is not having 5-6 tds a game like he did at the beginning of the season but he is still playing good

Norm: At this point in the season, if you gage everyone's schedule, Saints have easy schedule

Goose: Looks like things are shaping up for them

Goose: The Saints are are going to win at home

Goose: Somebody will get New Orleans, but it won't be at home

Norm: Philly?

Goose: Most talented group of playmakers under McNabb I have ever seen. This is a deep group of playermakers but the big question is can they block the Cowboys?

Norm: Can they

Goose: Keep Celek and Westbrook in to block because they have had some issues on the line

Goose: Race is between Giants, Eagles and Cowboys. You hve to win the home games. That is why the Cowboys are hurting with that loss to the Giants

Norm: Are we sure this is just a bad spell for the Giants

Goose: Trace it back to Manning's Foot Injury. He is a different QB. He is having problems setting up with that foot. Since the foot, 5 tds, 6 ints. He is not the same QB the Cowboys faced

Norm: Philly has a almost unbelievable array of people to spread the ball around too and the same with Dallas

Goose: I think the difference is Eagles is playing better defense. They shut down the Giants running game. Not going to that game, but I wouldn't mind going.

Norm: Philly makes really big plays in the Return Game. Dallas with Beuhler and McBriar, they may be able to neutralize that

Goose: At Texas Stadium yes, but in the cold, they will not be able too. The kicking game will play a big part in this game though.

Norm: For the last few years, it has amazed people at the size of contracts kids are getting. They are unproven. Is the ownership going to try to change that?

Goose: Yes and I think that players are not going to be opposed to it. The players always say give the veterans the money. You have to control the spending on unproven comodities

Goose: **Talked about the 2 receivers the Browns drafted where one is getting paid higher than the other even though both were taken in the 2nd round but one is playing better than the other**

Norm: Coaching Changes

Norm: Mangini?

Goose: Learner likes Mangini, I think he is back.

Norm: Why does he like him?

Goose: Why did Bill Ford like Matt Millen?

Norm: Right

Norm: Jim Zorn?

Goose: Yes

Norm: Dick Jauron?

Goose: yes

Norm: Cable?

Goose: Yes

Norm: Jack Del Rio

Goose: No

Jeff Fisher?

Goose: Only if he wants to go.

Norm: Bud Adams pressuring him publicly to start Vince Young

Goose: No future in Collins, I don't think that botthered Jeff Fisher. It was common sense. Fisher may want to walk away. He saw other coaches leave for a year and then come back and get better situations

Norm: Enormous demands for QBs

Goose: I think you are going to see a bunch of Juniors come out. I wouldn't be suprised if you saw 4-5 drafted in the first 20 picks and they will all be on the field. You will see alot of reaches but if you don't have a Quarterback you don't have anything in this league

Goose: I thought Flaco was going to the late 40s and was picked higher and they were right

Norm: Michael Vick?

Goose: He touched the ball one time last week. I thought Reid was holding him back for Division games because there will be no tape on him. I think you will see more of him. I don't think he will be back next year and I think they would love to trade him. They wanted to develop him and then trade him. Andy Reid likes Colb.

Norm: Why would they put Vick on the field with the Offense being in rythmn?

Goose: If you felt Vick would give you a wrinkle. But the way McNabb is playing, you don't want to do it. What is surprising is he isn't holding on kicks to be a threat of a fake.

Norm: Don't want to pump up the Eagles, but if I told you Westbrook was hurt, Curtis wasn't having an impact, what would you say?

Goose: This is a team that knows how to build a team. They used draft picks on Receivers and Running backs just in case playmakers get hurt. Macklin is a good receiver, scored a TD last week.

I think Goose has a man crush on the entire Eagles team and organiztaion. Some things he says is right. They are always there and contend. Seem to bring in talent, though maybe not always the best. But they get the best out of them.
But IMO they aren't as good as what he makes them out to be.
It's that he NEVER says any of their negatives as he does with other teams, especially the Cowboys'.

You may be right and while I hate the eagles I do think they are a very good team and a very well coached team. I expect nothing less than a knock down drag out fight this weekend

Manning playing from behind vs Manning playing with the lead and a dominant Running game.

I don't put any stock into the foot thing!

OMG! It's supposed to be in the 50s Sunday.

I doubt Buehler will be able to kick it to the 20.

I was thinking that too. Most of what he said was right on, but he missed there.

The Goose-Chocolate Lab routine--with Goose as the unknowing straight man.

One of this board's most reliable pleasures.

I ran into Ralph Wilson after the Buffalo game at the airport. He was pissed. Dick is surely gone. On a lighter note, my friend who is a Commander fan mentioned something about Dan Snyder to him. He said back, "Dan Snyder is a Jack A**."
We were laughing about it the whole way home.

So what has been Eli's excuse every other year he has gone in the tank after September?

Month ......... Career passer rating
September ............. 91.0
October ................. 81.8
November .............. 69.4
December .............. 68.6

He's just being his usual self this year.

Agreed, but tell the media that, today Goose was blaming it on the Achillies injury he suffered vs KC.

I understand all the love for New Orleans, but Goose forgot to mention they have 8 turnovers the past 2 games, 4 in each one, that will get you beat.

Yikes. That can't be right.

He should get more grief behind that.

Do you mean against the run or on offense? Either way, that's a weird group of teams.

I agree with this. The one year he got hot, they won but over all, Eli does struggle late. However, if you watch him, it's pretty clear to me, he's hurt. He can't step into throws. He can't move around in the pocket and then reset either. It's all arm on anything he has to throw. Giants have also changed the patterns they are running for the WRs. Manning is hurt IMO.
