I didn't catch all of it:

  • Not a deep draft
  • Not deep at Guard or Center, or at LB (ILB I think)
  • Good draft for DT, TE, DL in general, WR, & CB
  • Eight OT's will be taken in the 1st two rounds

A safety can be found in any round of any draft. He said two starting safeties were taken in the 6th round last year.

He said people were doing their homework on Dez B. (JJ too).

Hopefully some others were listening and can fill in the rest of what he said.

If Dez falls I think jerry bites for sure.

Looks like it's time to pick up another TE.

I think there's a v good chance that Pitts takes Pouncey. I think there's a big drop-off after him.

As for OG, I think Iupati is considered the cream of the crop, and probably the next best OG prospects who fit the "typical" Cowboys' size requirements are Jerry and V Ducasse (think he moves inside initially).

Around Round 4-5 area you've got Newhouse and a couple other candidates.

I agree. And honestly, I wouldn't mind that. Can't have too many playmakers on the team and he is that!

Hard to imagine that happening. Guess you never know.

Yeah, I think we'll trade down before up. Just don't like losing draft picks unless they're next year's. Next year's draft is going to be thin.

I really don't care who the pick is at 27 as long as the last name is not Mays or Campbell.

I'm good with Iupati, Pouncey, Odrick, McCourty, Bryant, or a trade down for more picks.

with Goose a bit on the draft issue.

I think this IS a " deep " draft, just not " potentially franchise type " player deep. I think there's plenty of solid talent in the first 3 rounds, that is: players who should end up as contributors, come to work every day, lunch pail, type of dudes and who knows, chances are that a bunch could turn into Pro Bowlers, All Pros, and even HOFs..

The receivers, just like 2 years ago, are mostly concentrated in the 2nd round with Bryant being the sole 1st rounder. It hurts that the DT position only has 1, " maybe 2 " with the recent rumor of East Carolina DT Linval Joseph moving up fast, destined to go in the 1st round. Usually there are at least 3 DTs who make their way into the round.

Same thing with RBs.

Perhaps that's why Goose doesn't think this draft is deep, but I look at it from an overall position as opposed from the sheer quality prespective.

You forgot Pierre-Paul when naming high bust potential. Not that I think they would take him.

It lacks star power (esp. at QB), but like you I disagree with Gosselin as well.

If it were not deep, I do not think you would see as much trading activity as you have seen. To me, if a draft is deep, there is a nice bulge in that second/third round area and a few "first round" types that slip into that. I see it that way.

I agree with you guys. I think it is deep. But even if it isn't deep there is still tremendous value at almost every position we need in every round.

You think there's only 1 or maybe 2 DTs that are first rounders? There will probably be 2 gone by the 4th pick. I would be shocked if there weren't 2 more gone by pick 25.

He also said there is a decent chance Iupati makes it to 27!, I would rather have Pouncey, but wouldn't complain.

Yea, me too.. I would have loved for the Cowboys to have some of the picks they had last year, this year.

Boy, finally drafting an offensive lineman(or two) with good prospects would make my draft day sweet!

I think that in the first three rds this draft is as deep as you will see. I think because there are only a few QBs and WRs that are considered first rd picks some have the idea that this is a thin draft.
