Remember in the months leading up to the draft, Goose eluded to the fact how DJ's stock was a bit overvalued b/c he had "character issues", and we ended up giving him alot of flack over it?

Does DeSean Jackson's 2008 Rookie Photo Day Video (discovered by Inside the Iggles) bring back bad memories of Freddie Mitchell?

Watching the video one can't help but think how stupid Jackson looks and sounds.

Throughout his interview Jackson is constantly praising his abilities and displaying the "look at me" personality that too often characterized Freddie Mitchell.

When Jackson wasn't spewing compliments over his abilities, he was saying moronic statements like playing cornerback for the Eagles and being a shutdown corner like Deion Sanders.

And Jackson sure won’t win any points with Eagles fans by constantly mentioning his idolization of Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, and Michael Irvin. Memo to Jackson: Philadelphia hates the Cowboys!

In the weeks leading up to the draft Jackson was seen being mentored by the legendary Jerry Rice. I guess Jackson did not learn the all-important lesson of letting your play speak for your greatness.

Hopefully Jackson has gotten this behavior out of his system. Future interviews like this will not be tolerated by Eagles fans or by Andy Reid.

Jackson: Before you start comparing yourself to Panther’s receiver Steve Smith, lets first get yourself on the field and make a few catches. Right now the only player you are being compared to is Freddie Mitchell. And that is not a good thing.

I never wanted to draft him so I have no idea what you are talking about.

He was way to small to draft in the 1st round any ways and he was not even that good in a weak wr class

I don't know who this "we" is, most on the board didn't want the guy because he's under 5-10 and is only 169 pounds.

You mean he wasn't a huge fan of Randall Cunningham, and Keith Byars?

Jackson will be a Steve Smith if he puts it all together. He needs to add about 20 pounds of muscle to his frame and he will be solid. You cant teach speed or moves and he has both of them to spare.

Take it easy on the guy. He idolized Troy, Emmitt, and Mike. I like him alittle better now :) Can't blame the guy for getting drafted by the Eagles. Poor soul...

Whats so hilarious about that? That would put him right up there, size wise, with Steve Smith and it's not like 20 pounds of muscle in an NFL offseason program, over the course of 2-3 years is unheard of or anything.

California had a very well respected weight program. So I question if he can put on that amount of weight. Not everyone can without losing something.

I think I'm the only person on the plant that found Freddie Mitchell intentionally amusing.

I don't remember that. Most folks thought WRs sucked for that draft class all in all and they did.

Jackson needed to get bigger before he was anymore coveted than other speedsters who went mid to late 1st in recent drafts.

And what type of plant were you "on", Tommy Chong? Fred-Ex was pretty funny if you were not an Eagle-fan.

I am, but he doesn't really say anything funny, like thanking God for his hands. That ranks right up there with Ricki Williams giving all his interviews with his helmet on, in my book.
