He says that Vick is the X factor and Norm just laugh at him hysterically.

He says that Philly shut it down because they didn't play Vick. What am I missing? How is Goose considered a respected sports journalist?

You're not going to run much wildcat when you're behind the whole game.

I've never cared for the guy. Just something about him. He gets kudos for his mock draft, but all he does is call the teams beat writer the night before the draft and takes their best guess. Good journalism...maybe. But hardly genius.

To say Vick is the X factor is beyond ridiculous.

He's on with Norm right now and he thinks the Eagles did shut it down early. Says they'd rather win the second game with us than the first.

Norm said, "But they wouldn't have done that until late in the game."

My reception is a little scratchy, but I'm 90% sure Goose came back claiming that they shut it down when they saw Vick was inactive (or the 3rd QB who couldn't play until the fourth quarter). I know for sure he said this week Vick will be a big factor and will slow down our pass rush. Says Reid will play him a lot if he has to because he can't worry about McNabb's feelings at this point.

Also says Andy Reid knows how to coach in the postseason and that this team was in the NFC Championship game last year. Plus, he says that the week before, he saw the Broncos game and thought Philly was the best team in the NFC (and maybe football)?

Also, this last game was the first time he'd been to Cowboys stadium all year.

Whatta tool.

Hope every media outlet keeps saying this...Don't want the Boys going in there feeling like they already accomplished something. Want them going in with a chip on their shoulder.

I switched to Irvin's Show, so I didn't hear it.

Goose has been "pimping" the whole Vick/Wildcat thing all season.

During the Week leading up to our first game, he criticized the Eagles for not using Vick more, especially as the holder to present the threat of a fake.

Andy Reid, just like any smart coach is going to go with his "known" horses.

If Andy Reid felt that Vick could have been a difference in the game Sunday and chose not to fire him, then he should be fired because he cost his team the #2 Seed and a first round bye.

That's what I'm talkin' about!:suxiggle:

Believes Philly laid the game down when they made Vick inactive. After laughing, Norm asks, "are you seroius?" Gosselin contends that Vick balances out the mismatch of the Defensive pass rush vs. the Philly pass offense with McNabb. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Unbelievable!

I hope all of this talk of the Eagles "shutting it down early" and "not really trying" is making the rounds in the Cowboys locker room.

We should have plenty of ammo to prove Sunday was no fluke. This is a confident team the Eagles are facing with a defense playing at a high level. Not the punching bag the Eagles saw for most of the early part of the decade.

Did the Eagles try in the November game?

goose has lost it- he said "philadelphia shut it down when they declared Vick inactive"and he wasnt even joking.

Eagles are the best team in the NFC (if not the NFL).

+

When they realized that they didn't have their sub-package, 3rd string QB they shut it down because they knew they had no chance of beating Dallas head-up without trick plays and gimmicks, and the #2 seed and the playoff bye was completely out of reach and not even worth fighting for.

If he's that indispensable, why would they make Vick "inactive" with so much on the line?

Goose has lost his mind. So let me see if I have this straight. Rather than trying to get a free pass into the divisional round and having a guaranteed home game and being 2 games from Miami, the Eagles packed it in and preferred to go to Dallas, then New Orleans, and then either Minnesota, Arizona, or freezing Lambeau to get to the Super Bowl.

Yeah right. And this clown gets paid to cover this league.

Yeah, you heard right. Goose said that he knew the Eagles had "shut it down" when Vick was listed as inactive.

A moment later, Goose seemed to back away from this a bit, when he said (paraphrase) "well, they've got to give Vick a major role after seeing how things went on Sunday."

Yes.

Vick is so vital the Eagles decided to play an extra playoff game to ensure he couldn't get any more time off to heal.

Seriously! He thought they were the best team by barely beating a team at home that didn't even make playoffs...

:lmao2:

Goose does one thing right - poll teams before the draft to get the consensus on where players will be drafted. That's it, that's all he does right.
