The one thing he said that took me by surprise is he didn't think Carpenter would be there at pick 40.

He thought Moore at 40 was too high and that this was the worst safety and LB classes he's ever seen. Thought Williams will go late 1st Moore late 2nd and maybe not another safety until the 4th round. I'm guessing he was excluding 3-4 outside backers.

I was on the road did anyone else hear anything he said.

Yep. He said Williams' 40-time during the Texas pro-day probably puts him in the 1st round. Said this is the worst set of DBs and LBs in several years. Said, the UCLA S probably goes in the 2nd rd (even though he doesn't warrant selection that early), and the next S probably won't be selected until the 4th rd. Said that Williams will project to S, and that he'll be the 1st one selected.

I think everyone would rather have Weddle but the price Weddle will want is going to be way to high.

Yes HUff was benched but since that benching Huff has been a top 10 safety and even a top 5 FS in the NFL. Huff is from Dallas Area, wants to be a Cowboy, and will most likely take a home town discount.

Weddle will get paid big money from a bunch of different teams.
Chargers will go heavy after him but I think Carolina, SF, and especially the Texans will offer more money. I predict Weddle as a Texan.

Daniel Manning will be my choice as a SS. He would fit in perfect, great cover safety that can hit. I like Sensy, he would be my 2nd choice, but Manning is a better player and can help out on special teams. Manning is also from the Dallas area, well 45 minutes from Dallas.

My three FA signings when FA starts would be Huff, Manning, and Blalock.
I would cut Colombo, Davis, Barber, this will free up a ton of money.
I would resign Free and Bowen.
Players I would cut depending on the draft picks would be Newman and Brooking. If I get a good LB and CB that I feel good about then both would be gone, but I don't see that happening.

Also don't forget that Eric Wright from the Browns will be a FA. He played two years under Ryan. HE had a bad year last year and was benched for Joe Haden, so he could come cheap and have a bounce back year.

I'd imagine he's talking about James Carpenter, OT. Would make sense too, since he's a fairly good and safe prospect. Kinda like how Kareem Jackson rose all the way to the first round about a week before the draft last year

Yes James Carpenter. I've seen him all the way down to the 5th round, Goose doesn't think he makes pick 40. I'd seen that we was moving up to 3rd round, but making it to the top half of the 2nd shocked me.

no way do I want to sign a over the hill OL a big fat contract. Sorry but the Patriots just franchised him again and he wants a long term big pay day at 29 years old, no thanks. Be like the Davis contract all over again.
