Gordon Wins 20th Anniversary Brickyard 400

One the 1st one, now 20 years later Gordon won his 5th Brickyard 400 in the 24 Chevrolet. Good on Gordon.

Yep, I was happy to see that yesterday. His adopted hometown of Indy just loves him. Once he took the lead on that 17-to-go restart, over Kahne, I knew it was over unless something mechanical happened, or perhaps another yellow. But, I know that he was happy to see a somewhat boring (for us) last 17 laps. I wonder if Jimmy happened to call him "Five Time!" at all yesterday...

No telling Phoenix. How have you been BTW?

I didn't actually see the race but I was happy to see that Gordon won it. I know a lot of people don't like him but I like him. He's always been a class guy and represented the Sport well. He, IMO, was a big part of bridging the gap in NASCAR between the Great Dale Earnhardt's death and what NASCAR is now. JMO

Been well, thanks! :)

I agree with you about Jeff. Love his versatility in being able to do pretty well on all course types, far as I can tell. I admire the 24 team's Drive to End Hunger deal also. He just seems to be one of those guys that has done things the right way, always has been respectable, even admirable. I've never really understood the hostility towards him. He's not my favorite racer but I've never had anything against him and have always rather liked him.

Kasey Kahne. The worst restart driver in the series.

It was sickening to watch. He just gave the race away.

Gordon isn't the best at restarts either. Bottom line is... The strongest car of the day won the race.
