It's apparently official.

===================================================

Mod Edit...Not official yet...

Frank Gore plans to sign with the Indianapolis Colts, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The deal is expected to be similar to the three-year, $12 million offer that the former 49ersrunning back received Sunday from the Eagles, according to the source.

Gore's contract with Indianapolis also is expected to include $7.5 million in guaranteed money.

Colts just increased the average age of their team by 10 years.

Signing Gore, Johnson and Cole.

Free agency this year is "funner" than it's been in a long time. Thanks Chip.
.... and DeMarco ... oh, the drama.

IF DM goes to Philly I will be not happy at all. DM could be our Gore but it will cost 7-8 million. For that price, I am not interested in finding that out.

But if it costs 7-8 million to keep him out of Philly then I would do it. He can't go to them. That would really suck. He is much different than Canty or Hatcher. He would actually make a difference in Philly.

I doubt an older RB wants to be in Genius Chip Kelly's camp all summer.

FG: "Coach K, man I don't need to sprint between drills I've.."
CK: BLOWS WHISTLE
FG: "Seriously son, I've got 5 Pro Bowls and 11,000 yards, this is silly man I didn't sign up for...."
CK: BRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT!!! BRRRT, BRRRTTT BRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTT!!
FG: "I think I just tweaked my hammy. Be in the training room."

A back with injury questions playing in a 100mph offense is not a good look, so i don't think Murray would fare very well in Philly.

Reason Kelly wanted Gore was to get a strong north, south runner. He does not want backs dancing in the hole but guys who will hammer the ball up the middle

Murray probably has seen enough of McCoy getting hit behind the line, or for no gain, and if he has any pride in performance , which I think he does, he would factor that in vs dollars if it's close and this were to come true.

DeMarco wants to be here. The question is can it be done.

Eagles don't have a line capable of being a power run team, Murray will get knocked silly trying to run straight up the middle with that line:lmao2:

I don't think so, McCoy is a very good back but he tends to bounce instead of hitting the hole as they want. 2011 Cowboys OL was not great Murray was still able to put up 5.5 a carry. They are 2 different types of backs which is why Philly had an interest in Gore a north/south runner who will hit the hole with power

Players don't want to play in that type of offense. There were reports that Eagles players felt Kelly's regiment was too grueling.
It's not a typical NFL offense. It's up tempo. But if you have to practice that way all the time, and you really don't want to be in that type offense, then it's too much for you.
That's why players are leaving, and that's why Kelly wants as many Oregon players as he can get. He wants players who are used to running his offense, and defenders used to going against this type offense in practice.

On a side note, I know I kid about Frank Gore's age, but he is one of the most unsung players/running backs in the game. The guy has had I don't know how many knee/ACL injuries, and he's still playing. He came into the league before Felix Jones, Marion Barber (well, in the same draft class) and Rashard Mendenhall and outlast them all. He's the Jerome Bettis of this generation. Maybe they'll elect him to the HoF too.

And this was Gore's thought process:

Eagles? Nick Foles or Mark Sanchez?
Colts? Andrew Luck?

Uh, Indianapolis, here I come! :)
