We do need a safety but I dont think Reid was the answer. He's not that fluid an athlete and he'd look like crap behind this defensive front. Not so much in SF

Ok, I have to go on a bit of a rant here. I hate these kinds of redraft articles because they (wrongly) assume that radical changes in the Cowboys' draft would have no impact on how other teams draft. For example, let's say the Cowboys would have drafted Warford...you're telling me that there's no chance the Lions draft Thorton in the third? "Redrafts" are nothing more than nonsense.

I love the reasoning on the redraft... 4 ints for one of the best defenses in the league. They were one of the best defenses in the league before Reid got there. Let's not pretend he was the missing piece. He benefitted more from being on the 9ers than vice versa.
Just like Goldson who was far and away the 49ers best safety before hitting FA this past year. In Tampa? He was arguably their worst.
That front 7 will make you look great.

This shouldn't be a one year study, a longer term trend needs to be looked at here. Not so much to rue and worry about hindsight. But to show holes and concerns with the draft evaluation "process"...........we pass and miss on too many quality players in each round of the draft. What missing evaluation is keeping us from hitting on those-------those are the players Jimmy Johnson filled up the rooster with. A Leon Lett in what? the 7th round, its been awhile since we hit a Jay rattliff that late, and that is why our depth in many positions is non-existent. It would also help our Cap problems---we need to find the next Jay Ratliff late, to avoid giving a Jay Ratliff at age 30 a big dollar contract when he should via competition, be allowed to part company with..................its a process
